Requirements
Paramount to success within this varied role will
include:
• Providing
technical assistance to the MOTC highway department in the day to day
operations.
• Assisting
in carrying out major highway project evaluations, project planning, design and
preparation of tender documents for design and supervision, or design and build
for roads projects, and for the roads Maintenance/Upgrading or any other
related tenders as required by client.
• Assisting
in the analysis and evaluation of all the afore-mentioned tender documents.
• Reviewing
all of the design stages of roads projects designed by various consultants,
from selection of road alignment to final preparation of tender documents.
• Carrying
out site visits as and when instructed by the client.
• Providing
technical assistance in the general implementation of routing the existing road
network under the jurisdiction of the MOTC.
• Reviewing
and updating the existing program for highway maintenance and road improvement
with a particular emphasis on the careful monitoring of road deterioration and
effect of different maintenance strategies.
• Assisting
in the preparation of annual and five-year plans for estimating the budget
allocation.
• Carrying
out studies for the highway safety.
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we
envision that you will bring a minimum of 10 years of experience with Ph.D, or
15 years with M.Sc., or 20 years with B.Sc. major rural and urban highway
projects in all types of terrains and involving all types of interchanges.
Extensive practical experience in the planning, design and construction of
highways, starting from route selection to the final design stages for major

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or any related
field is essential.
Registered/Chartered Engineer is preferred.
