A Finance Manager is required for a Multi-National group based in Kuwait. The successful applicant will be in control of the full finance function for the country and report to the Group CFO.
The role will be focused on the reporting of financial results to the Group CFO however will also be required to work as a finance business partner to the Country Manager working on commercial issues.
The role will also involve forecasting & pricing so the candidate should experienced on financial & commercial concerns.

- Available to work in Kuwait full time
- Experience within engineering, oil & gas would be a benefit

Financial Controller -

The Financial Controller reports to the CFO and contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all financial tasks, overseeing budgeting and accounting.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Financial Controller performs a wide range of duties including the following:
Financial accounting and reporting
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including, Zakat, Income Tax, Withholding tax, VAT etc.
- Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit with the approved external auditor.
- Dealing with Internal auditors
- Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
- Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
- Ensure regular reconciliation of banks, Suppliers and Monthly GL Reconciliations, and manage cash flow.
- Prepare and update monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting as compared to budget.
- Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy.
- Manage the bookkeeping function, using the Microsoft Dynamics Package, including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures as required to ensure that personnel and financial information is secure.
- Assist the CFO and CEO and COO with financial reporting as required at Board meetings and the Annual General Meetings and provide advice to support the decision making process.
Budget preparation
- Using the "Zero-Based" approach for budgeting, prepare the annual budget in consultation with the CFO and Treasurer and/or Finance Committee.
- Assist staff with the preparation of budgets for funding projects.
- Preparing reports on budgets Vs actuals on regular intervals
Project management (activity centers) accounting
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on the financial activity of individual projects.
- Regular communication with project managers on financial issues.
- Ensuring projects cost reports are published every month regularly
Banking
- Dealing with Local Saudi banks for Financing and facilities and Liaison for documentary credits, LC, bank guarantees etc.
Cash flows and forecasting
- Preparing updates on cash flow forecasts in coordination with project managers and in alignment with budgets in order to identify cash flow shortfalls well in time.
- Doing report on cash flow forecast Vs actuals and identify the deviations
Team management
- Handling team of Accountants and Chief accountant etc in multicultural environment

provides professional management services to the firm, including the central
operations of finance, information technology, marketing, risk, legal,
operations and human resources.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the Middle East Accounting and Finance Operations and reporting
to the Finance Director. The role includes preparation of the statutory
financial statements, , US GAAP reporting, multi-geographical tax filings,
treasury and audits. Responsible for leadership and direction for the
Accounting Operations team and being an active member of the global finance
community whilst managing a team of 7 professionals.
Overall responsibilities include:
• Continually seeking to improve accounting and administrative processes by
leading local development and implementation of financial applications and
identify efficiencies to improve the information systems, e.g. Oracle General
Ledger and Hyperion
• Mentoring and developing the team and fostering a positive working environment
• From a Risk Management perspective ensuring there are appropriate internal
controls and compliance with local tax, legal and other regulatory requirements
• Being a discussion partner on all issues relating to payroll and fringe
benefits, and pro-actively advising on labor law / fiscal issues and
opportunities, WPS, GOSI, etc.
• Oversee payroll activities to ensure timely and accurate, as well as liaise
with HR
• Liaising closely with Financial Analysts (Finance Commercial Support ) and
Financial Planning and Analysis with calendar management, other costs analysis,
revenue recognition and ad hoc team projects
• Overall responsibility for the accounting and payroll functions of the Middle
East offices
Taxation and Compliance
• Responsible for the facilitating the preparation and review of multiple tax
returns with support from external advisors
• Responsible for the completion of the Tax Planning Template (TPT), which
reconciles local tax to US GAAP tax
• Assist in tax audit processes as needed in close cooperation with the Finance
Director and the Global Tax Team
• Gather the relevant data to support and comply with transfer pricing
agreements
Treasury
• Manage monthly cash forecasts
• Manage the inter-company process
• Treasury management which includes monthly monitoring the short and long-term
cash position of the company, maximizing return/minimizing cost, maintaining
banking relationships, etc.
• Minimum of 10 years experience
• University degree plus Accounting Qualification or equivalent, MBA a plus.
• Supervisory or management experience in multinational environments
• English fluency
• Familiarity with UAE/KSA/Qatar/Lebanon financial reporting and GAAP requirements
• Ability to work with a wide range of people and personalities
• US GAAP experience
• Experience in professional accounting preferred
