The Role
As a Sales Engineer at VONK your focus will be on internal and external customer relationships, market analysis and bid strategy. You will cover the market and sales with special focus on brownfields and Retrofit Automation Business with our system integration solutions. You will try to exceed the sales targets through high performance in order to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and as a Sales Engineer you should achieve both qualitative and quantitative targets for automation systems in a profitable way. VONK is an independent design and build contractor, and system integrator for the oil and gas industry. Our core business is the development and redevelopment of production facilities, such as oil production facilities, gas-to-liquid plants, production plants and refineries. We execute multi-disciplinary and EPC projects (Engineering, Procurement and Construction). For the oil and gas industry, VONK divides its expertise’s into four portfolio’s. The portfolios are FEED studies, Skid Mounted Solutions, EPC(M) and Life Cycle Services (LCS). Our capabilities are predominantly in the disciplines Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) and in the Control & Automation (C&A), often in remote locations and under difficult circumstances. We are familiar with refineries, and onshore and offshore production facilities. Our team has considerable experience in delivery of packaged substations. Our team of three is specialized in tailor-made solutions and working in a local office in Qatar. Your key tasks and responsibilities are the following: • Supporting the implementation of sales strategy in alignment with the local market; • Ensuring sales achievement through regular oversight, and definition and implementation of improvement plans as needed; • Identifying opportunities at existing and potential new customers within defined geographical area; • Coordinating the flow of information for sales activities and transactions; • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers; • Ensuring efficient marketing communications and communicating the value proposition of the offer to current and potential customers; • Negotiating with customers to finalize sales contracts; • Ensuring quality screening of projects and customers; • Providing meaningful inputs to Direct Manager; • Proactively visiting customers and attending marketing events to present the VONK Portfolio. Requirements
• Graduate in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Control / Instrumentation), with at least five years of relevant experience in the Middle East (mainly Qatar). • Good knowledge and understanding of leading control systems used for industrial application, especially for Oil & Gas. • Good understanding of automation (solution) business, and capability to improve and drive business to the next level. • Strong customer focus and result-oriented. • Out-going, full of initiative and with perseverance. • Proven capabilities and ability to work across reporting lines. • Fluent in written and spoken English and reasonable understanding of Arabic. • Good cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills.

Site Project Manager - Mechanical Engineer

The Role
Site Project Manager - Mechanical Engineer Our client is currently searching for an experienced Project Manager – Mechanical Engineering to join their team delivering a high rise project in Kuwait. As the site Project Manager, you will be required to lead and manage all aspects of MEP construction on site ensuring that the day to day duties are performed professionally and expeditiously to support the progress of the project. The correct individuals must be able to demonstrate a track record of responsibilities which include but are not limited to the following responsibilities: Responsibilities: • Leading an MEP site team on a major high rise projects in the Middle East Region • Advising of any technical aspects of the mechanical services that may affect construction progress, e.g. quality or snagging • Reviewing the construction schedule during the progress of site works with regards to MEP services • Responsible for the filing/logging of the MEP documentation • Attending of and advising at risk workshops where you are responsible for reporting any risks associated with MEP installations or general project to the Project Manager • Reviewing installation method statements • Reviewing shop drawings • Reviewing mechanical shop drawing in conjunction with the structural and electrical engineers to ensure engineering coordination • Reviewing mechanical services material proposals against specified technical performance requirements and advising on the appropriateness of the proposals • Undertaking general project site observation/inspection of the mechanical services works • Monitoring and promoting health and safety on the site. Recording and reporting any breaches • Undertaking off-site inspections of proposed equipment and materials as may be deemed necessary • Undertaking review of proposed mechanical system testing & commissioning methods and schedule • Witnessing mechanical system final testing and commissioning. • Reviewing and commenting on testing and commissioning results and advising accordingly • Maintaining an ongoing list of mechanical services defects for remedial action • Undertaking final project snagging and prepare list of defects for action • Attending project, site progress and any mechanical services related technical meetings as required • Preparing draft site/engineer’s instructions, relating to the building mechanical services, as required • Resolving specific site problems as required to minimize program delays. • Preparing MEP section monthly progress reports. • Ensure that daily progress reports are produced with regards to MEP works. • Maintaining the site diary.
Requirements
• Bachelors, and ideally Masters, degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering • Ideally you may also hold a professional registration for engineering through a relevant and appropriate institution • Demonstrable experience of leading an MEP site team • Demonstrable experience of working in multi-disciplinary construction teams
