We are looking for a Senior/Principal Environmental Consultant to work across our Qatar Projects. 

Role Summary:
Our Regional Environmental Team completes projects for blue chip international and local clients in the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and KSA. The success of the team is the result of an unrelenting focus on understanding our client's business, forming strong relationships built on trust and getting it right first time. As a result of the team's expanding workload, we have a need for a Principal-level environmental expert to play a leading role in the continued success and growth of the group. This is a senior role in the environment team managing major environmental projects from bid to implementation stages, providing technical co-ordination review and direction, client management and ensuring good project performance.

The main duties of the Senior/Principal Environmental Consultant include, but are not limited to:
• Project management and project direction for Environmental Impact Assessments, Strategic Environmental Assessments, Environmental Management Plans including the co-ordination and management of internal specialists and sub-consultants 
• Ensuring that the quality of deliverables is to the consistent high standards necessary to obtain recognition as consultant of choice by ensuring that Technical Reviews are undertaken on all deliverables and are in accordance with local legislation and best practice 
• Endeavour to apply industry best practice in all aspects of work and provide technical input into specialist reports 
• Responsible for technical development of junior staff 
• Development of relationships with clients and the regulatory authorities as well as other interested parties in order to deliver effective solutions to clients to the appropriate schedule and quality 
• Creating and developing opportunities
• Managing project financial performance and meeting profit and cash targets
• Development and implementation of winning proposal strategies 
• Contributing to the technical input for multi-disciplinary bids 
• Contributing to the management of the profit and loss performance of the environmental function group
• Understanding Quality, HSE and Company Systems and ensuring that they are applied in all lines of work 
• Responsible for coordinating work packaging within and outside the region 
• Environmental support to other projects in the region where necessary

• Relevant degree and MSc/second degree from an accredited university
• Membership of an appropriate professional institute or association
• Expert in the field of EIA with 10-14 years of experience
• Extensive experience in undertaking high profile environmental projects in the transport, utilities, buildings and oil & gas sectors 
• Experience in negotiating with regulators to achieve the best environmental outcome for the client
• Experience in working in an international consultancy 
• Work experience in the Gulf region 
• Evidence of co-ordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing staff
• Working knowledge of international environmental legislation, trends, case law, standards and guidance
• Knowledge of international project financing mechanisms and implications
• Proven experience in preparing proposals, including financial and resource breakdowns
• Extensive business development skills 
• Sound written and verbal communication skills together with interpersonal skills and ability to develop key relationships 
• Expertise in preparing literate, high quality reports 
• Competent at Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Project, etc 

Desired Experience. 
• A technical skill in air quality, noise, water quality, geology, hydrogeology, ecology, waste or sustainability would be advantageous

• Culturally sensitive with experience in operating in a multicultural environment
• Willingness to travel for short periods throughout the Gulf Region
• Ability to maintain a pro-active and organized approach
• Good attention to detail coupled with the ability to focus on the wider objectives

We are currently seeking an Assistant Cost Consultant to assist in the management of all costs relating to retail and/or hospitality developments, from the initial stages of work to completion.

Job description
• Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the client 
• Undertaking costs analysis for work completed 
• Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies 
• Preparing and analysing costings for tenders 
• Allocating work to subcontractors 
• Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports 
• Valuing completed work and arranging payments 
• Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use 
• Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations
The ideal candidate holds an Academic or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or any other related field. 

The candidate has 3 to 4 years’ experience of working in a similar position on retail and/or hospitality developments. Candidates with previous experience on the consultancy side will be preferable.
