JOB PURPOSE

To provide a general Ophthalmic service, incorporating the sub-specialty of oculoplastics via outpatient clinics and theatres in collaboration with other medical, nursing and technical staff.

To develop networks with neighboring trusts to the benefit of the service

To ensure that all parts of the service are being delivered in line with national and NICE guidelines

Teaching of Junior Staff, Medical Students, Optometrists and other professionals.

To provide supervision and training to Junior Hospital Doctors.

To participate in clinical audit, evidence based practice and Clinical Governance within the Department.

To participate in regional sub-specialty audit and Clinical Governance.

To participate actively in continuing professional development (CPD).
The hospital has a dedicated OPD Department. This department is well equipped with a full range of clinical support services.

The Outpatients Department consists of six consulting rooms and is equipped with Spectralis OCT, 2 x Cirrus HD OCT, IOL Master, Retinal and YAG lasers, Laser for SLT, Humphrey Field Analysers, Digital fundus Camera.

GMC registration
CCT or can achieve CCT within 6 months
