Duties and Responsibilities:
• Interface with clients and contractor’s staff to determine and verify project requirements.
• Check site conditions for suitability prior to construction.
• Conduct regular inspections to determine if structural works have been done in accordance with contract specifications and approved methods.
• Prepare inspection reports and site records.
• Check that materials delivered are approved and properly stored.
• Support the inspection and monitoring of piling installation to ensure location and bearing.
• Observe site safety procedures. Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Resident Engineer and/or Project Safety Representative.
• Measure work done when required.
• Assist in the preparation of ‘as-built’ drawings.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
• Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction supervision of infrastructure projects.
• Relevant work experience in Dubai is preferred.
• Strong analytic capabilities and the ability to work independently.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Commitment to safe work practices.

Your duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to:
• Provide input on managing the reporting function.

Project Manager - Infrastructure

We are currently looking for a Project Manager for our multi-billion dollar infrastructure project in Doha, Qatar. Provides overall direction and management of design and construction projects, monitors on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations; and monitors risks/problems and helps develop options to resolve.

The Project Manager is responsible to monitor scope development, scope management and commercial performance of the project to meet project goals and objectives. Assists to plan and define program goals; and methods to accomplish them; represents the client’s interests.

• Helps represent the interests of the client during construction execution. Support Client in negotiating changes to the scope of work. Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.
• Participates in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients’ interests. Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents required from the construction contractor.
• Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project, and monitors the final deliverables for adherence to these criteria. Responsible for the development and distribution of a description of the project.
• With the Construction Mangers, monitors the execution of the technical, financial and administrative functions of the construction contract. Assigns responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths. Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates
• Identifies the needs for specialist resources to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
• Discusses the qualifications required of the key project positions in specific detail with the senior managers. Collaborates with the office facilities staff to address project space requirements.
• Works with the client, the contractor, other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to coordinate budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project. Works with the key project and construction contractor individuals to monitor action plans to rectify potential construction cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advises the client and other team members of any such changes. The Project Manager is responsible to oversee coordination with the Contracts Management and Project Controls Groups and any client sub-contractors to maintain current and timely change orders.
• Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes. Monitors and reports on the progress of all project activity including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule. Establishes weekly meeting to review project status and formulate action items.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
• 4-year degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 15 years of post-graduate experience. Experience in major infrastructure project design or construction.

Further Qualification Required:
• Incumbent must have a broad general technical and construction background.
• Professional registration may also be required.
• Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required.

In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.

MEP Interface Engineer - Metro

We are currently looking for a MEP Interface Engineer for our Metro project in Doha, Qatar. You will be reporting to the Interface Management Manager

• Supervise the resolution of interfaces between civil D&B Contractors and the MSI Contractor in coordination with the Civil PMC and responsible departments in QR.
• Support the formal interface management processes.
• Review the civil’s D&B contractors Civil, MEP and architectural designs to confirm the adequacy of provisions for rail systems
• Provide full professional Consultancy Services to conduct checking and verification of the interface design, submitted by the MSI Contractor
• Carries out the Consultant Services required for this position and deemed to represent the minimum acceptable qualifications for the Services
• Adhere to the applicable legislation and statutory requirements, as well as any customer specific requirements
• Verify and review the continued adequacy, suitability and effectiveness of implemented systems and services
• As a member of the PMCS interface management team, he ensures interface management KPIs are met.
• Assist the Interface Manger, as required, in managing the MSI Contractor in a lead role to ensure that interfacing issues are registered, tracked and dealt with through an interface management system.
• Report to the Interface Manager in a timely manner whenever required
• Check that the design submissions are in conformity with the pre-agreed formats and time line for submission.
• Is expected to comment on and suggest any alterations to the design necessitated by site conditions throughout the duration of the Project
• Communicate early warnings related to interface issues

• Review interface control documents issued by the MSI Contractor and the Civil D&B contractors and coordinate the content therein with the PMCS discipline leaders.
• Coordinates reviews of the Civil D&B contractors design documents at the interface with the PMCS discipline leaders
• Coordinates the answers prepared by the PMCS discipline leaders and / or the MSI contractor to RFIs submitted by the Civil Contractors and ensures consistency in these answers across various civil packages.
• Issues RFIs to the Civil D&B Contractors as appropriate in coordination with the rail systems discipline leaders, the interface manager and / or the MSI Contractor.
• Attends regular interface coordination meeting with Civil D&B contractors and Civil PMCs.
• Review the Contractor’s Interface Management System, Interface Management Plan, Coordinated Design Interface Program and reports, and Interface Requirements Specifications against the Client’s Company Management System (CMS) – Program Stakeholder Management and Coordination Plan: Program Design and Interface Management Plan and report to the Interface Management Manager whether such plans and approach are fit for purpose, or make recommendations for improvement
• Have an advisory and acceptance role in technical issues related to design review and compliance with the specifications.
• Participate in external interfaces with major stakeholders, as well as agency interfaces between other public transport projects and all internal project interfaces, as instructed by the Interface Management Manager
• Participate in the integration between the Civil(s) and MSI Contractors design based on railway design experience, when asked by the Interface Manager
• BSc, BEng, BA or Equivalent
• Has total experience of more than 10 years
• Has railway experience of at least 5 years
• Has experience in designs and issues related to the management of interfaces as regards railway systems and MEP
• Is familiar with different international standards and specifications
• Demonstrate extensive experience in a similar role on a comparable international transit system

Is familiar with the local environment and culture and have a solid understanding of regulatory approvals, and permitting from government agencies.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The current position is for a site based Landscape Architect who will review aesthetic design and provide practical technical solutions when required to enable the construction of external spaces including hardscapes, softscapes, streetscapes etc. Works on this project range from commercial buildings and spaces, residential buildings, public open spaces and parks, hotels and marinas.

He will assist where necessary to ensure the works are carried out to the contract specifications and program.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review designs received from various consultants for technical content and compatibility with existing conditions.
• Propose alternatives where feasible, if designs are lacking detail or are unsuitable.
• Review contractor shop drawings and compare with IFC drawings from consultants
• Review MAS from contractors against specifications from consultants
• Review and advise on samples received from contractors, and recommend alternatives when appropriate.
• Coordinate with other relevant disciplines such as Engineers, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Architects.
• Maintain affiliations with professional societies to keep abreast of technologies.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture. Post graduate qualification would be a plus.
• Completion of the relevant professional qualifications and affiliation to a recognized landscape body in the country of education.
• Minimum of 10 years experience post professional qualifications.
