Logistics Duty Supervisor

This remarkable project involves the construction of major venues over a 6-square km site. The main venues and pavilions will be managed by their own project teams and will have their own site boundaries. This will leave significant areas around the plots which will be managed by the Logistics Team with the responsibility of Site Supervision Consultant for these areas.

Reporting to the Site Supervision Consultant, the role will be part of a Team providing 24-hour operational support and management.

Specifically, the role will require you:
• With the rest of the team, provide around the clock management in these areas.
• Provide first point of contact for any incidents within the project site and ensure procedures are followed.
• Assume the following co-ordination roles for fire, public protection, first aid and access/egress control.
• Ensure that the Health & Safety Plan is implemented within these areas; this will include carrying out the required audit plans.
• Ensure that the Environmental Plan is implemented within these areas; this will include carrying out the required audit plans.
• Provide day-to-day management of the Contractors whilst operating within these areas, including Site Support Services Management, Temporary Services, Satellite Welfare Facilities, Waste Management etc.
• Ensure compliance with Authority to Proceed permits and Laydown Area Access Requests.
• Monitor the free movement of traffic on the Temporary Site Roads and the maintenance of same.
• Liaise with the Project Teams to ensure smooth operations between boundaries.
• Liaise with the Security Team to ensure the day-to-day Security Functions are supported and provided for.
• Provide first line support to the Contractors and other Stakeholders on any issues within the site.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
• Degree/Diploma in Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 8 experience in construction projects, 4 years of which in GCC
• Proven experience of working within both construction and logistics environment
• Ability to demonstrate awareness of current legislation relating to HSE
• Man management on large construction projects
• Clean driving license
• Safety Qualification / Awareness Training
• Ability to work in a team, deliver objectives and targets
• Strong communication skills in English
• Strong Contractor Management skills

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Interface with clients and contractors to determine and verify project survey requirements.
• Check setting-out and levels.
• Check services locations and ensure their protection.

Design Manager - Stakeholder Delivery

We are currently looking for a Design Manager – Stakeholder Delivery for our infrastructure project in Doha, Qatar to provide overall direction and management of Stakeholders and Local Authorities to obtain the required liaisons and approvals for design, construction, T&C and support the construction PM’s to overcome the delay impact and complete the project within the schedule completion and in accordance with contractual obligations; also, monitors risks/problems and helps develop options to resolve. The Stakeholder Project Manager is responsible to monitor submittals to the Autorities development, and Authorities performance on the project schedule to meet project goals and objectives. Assists to plan and define program goals; and methods to accomplish them; represents the client’s interests.

• Helps represent the interests of the client during design & construction execution. Negotiates impact of Local Authorities and stakeholders involvement and requirements to the scope of work. Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.
• Participates in negotiations with regulatory Stakeholders, agencies and in public meetings in support of clients’ interests. Oversees establishment of Stakeholders progress Plan, Quality compliance to Local Authorities codes and standards / progress Control Plan of Authorities Approvals, and other reports, documents required to assure taking over the project to meet the Client’s and Authorities satisfaction
• Establishes the program requirements and build the trust with all Stakeholders through chains of meetings and positive communications for the project, also, coordinate with the consultants to assure the final deliverables for adherence to these criteria. Reporting the development and impact on the Project activities due Authorities Approval distribution of a description of the project.
• With the A. Construction Managers and Permit Engineers, to monitors the Authorities approvals. Assigns responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths. Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates
• Identifies the needs for specialist resources to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
• Discusses the qualifications required of the key project positions in specific detail with the senior managers. Collaborates with the office facilities staff to address project space requirements.
• Works with the client, consultants, contractor, other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to coordinate schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project.
• Works with the key project and construction contractor individuals to monitor action plans to rectify potential construction cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advises the client and other team members of any such changes. The Stakeholder Project Manager is responsible to oversee coordination with the Stakeholders and Project Controls Groups and any client contractors to maintain current and timely approvals for design and construction technical submittals.
• Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes. Monitors and reports on the progress of the project activity including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule. Establishes weekly meeting to review project status and formulate action items.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
• 4-year degree in Engineering or related technical field
• 15 years of total work experience in large-scale development projects is required.
• Further Qualification Required:
• Incumbent must have a broad general technical and construction background.
• Professional registration may also be required.
• Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology, codes and standards and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.

• Support in supervising site inspection staff as per Resident Engineer/ARE’s directions.
