Are you a native speaking ESL Teacher looking for an exciting new position in the U.A.E?

Alderwood are representing a large and successful teaching organisation that is responsible for running a large number of schools in the Middle East. We are looking for a large number of experienced and qualified English Language teachers to join them in August 2017.

You will be responsible for providing high quality teaching and learning support to students aged 14-18 years old by conducting sound competency assessments with your discipline. You are also required to provide administrative, promotional and other support to ensure the effective functioning of the company.

Job responsibilities:
• Responsible for planning, managing and improving the learning of their own students, working with other team members.
• In collaboration with Cluster Teachers to implement and continually improve curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment strategies.
• To manage the learning of the students, maintaining records, collaborating with other teachers and promoting staff development in a pro-active manner.
• Responsible for planning and participating in professional development opportunities to further their own knowledge, skills and abilities.
• To manage all facilities and activities related to achieve student learning.
• To play a leadership role in role-modeling behavior, attitudes, and learning behaviors for students.
• Responsible for achieving the set learning outcomes in students, and therefore supervise all student activities and processes to ensure outcomes.
• To develop and maintain teaching materials and assist with program quality assurance processes.
• Teachers liaise with Student Counselors, as required. Communicate progress and performance to students and school management / administration.

Role & Responsibilities:

Planning and delivery
• English Early Years Teachers are responsible for the successful implementation of the curriculum. By doing so, they are required to do the following:
• Deliver the curriculum according to 21st century teaching and learning principles.
• Create a positive, active, and creative learning environment through play.
• Develop the social and communication skills of the child and provide a safe and secure environment that fosters learning.
• Support of the physical development of the child through the Physical Education Curriculum.

Monitoring and Assessment
• Early Years English Teachers work within their discipline-based teaching teams to implement the Client’s quality assurance and performance standards through the use of appropriate learning projects, instructional activities and assessment schedules, in line with agreed quality guidelines.

Development
• Early Years English Teachers assist with the development, review and update of the Client’s teaching / learning resources, assessment tasks and projects for use by their teaching teams. Every team member is encouraged to provide ideas and suggestions leading to continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices. By doing so, may be required to:
• Plan and facilitate PD sessions across schools according to location.
• Regularly collaborate with team members to share ideas on best practice.
• Model and support a learner-centred, hands-on classroom environment that promotes learner engagement and participation.

Record keeping
• Early Years English Teachers work with their teams to manage the learning of students, maintain records, and collaborate with other colleagues in a pro-active manner. By doing so, are required to:
• Keep accurate and on-going records of daily activities, training sessions, assessment recording and implementation of strategies in the classroom.
• Plan and attend weekly subject meetings and grade level collaboration sessions.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related
• Minimum of 2 years of successful teaching experience in the Early Years field.
• CELTA / Cert TESOL (or recognised Level 5 equivalent) with YL Extension + a minimum of 2 years teaching in the Early Years field.
• PGCE with Primary or Early Years background.

Desirable:
• M.Ed in Early Years
• First Aid Certificate

Language
