An opportunity for a
financial controller to join my client whom is an engineering company based in
Doha, Qatar.
Due to visa restriction, this position is open to Indian nationals.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business. Master’s degree in business administration or financial accounting is preferable. Licensed as a certified public accountant, certified financial manager, or certified management accountant is a plus.
Proven 7 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience and previous supervisory experience.
Duties would be, but not limited to the followings:
1. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
2. Manage outsourced functions
3. Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
4. Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
5. Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
6. Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
7. Process payroll in a timely manner
8. Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
9. Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
10. Maintain the chart of accounts
11. Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
12. Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
13. Issue timely and complete financial statements
14. Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
15. Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
16. Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
17. Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
18. Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
19. Provide for a system of management cost reports
20. Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
21. Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
22. Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
23. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
24. Lots of energy and motivation
25. Multitasking skills
26. Good understanding of business and financial issues
27. The ability to work to tight deadlines
28. Excellent command of English
