Group Financial Controller

The Role 
The Group Financial Controller reports directly to the CFO and is a key member of the Finance Department. They are responsible for the companys day to day financial activities.   The Group Financial Controller will provide input and financial leadership on all operational financial matters and bring advice and perspective to the CFO, and other members of the Controllership Function. They will be a pro-active, target focused individual, committed to working collaboratively with other key members of the finance department (FP&A Manager and Group Treasurer) who make up the three main pillars of the finance department.  This role provides the opportunity for a high calibre accountant to gain international experience in a company adapting and responding to the challenges of rapid growth.  Manage the Controllership Function in light of the following objectives of the department:  Manage and drive improvements to AP, AR and payroll functions in each jurisdiction.  Review and Approval of all month end reconciliations and control accounts.  Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports and comparison of results for the Board, Executive Team and other interested parties.   Production of Quarterly, Interim and Annual Reports for shareholders, alongside any associated presentations and other documentation.  Effective management of the working capital components of the Group - in particular AR, cash, AP and taxes.  Undertake the annual audit and prepare statutory financial accounts where necessary, including group consolidated accounts, working with advisors and suppliers to achieve this.  Set appropriate internal control policies and procedures consistent with the size and structure of the group.  Management of group provisions including pensions, tax, insurance, environmental etc - liaising with management, legal department and external advisors.  Responsible for Group cost centre reporting and planning.  Responsible for Group assets recording and keeping.  Management of production of statutory accounts for all the subsidiaries of the group in accordance with local requirements.  Travel to markets as needed to meet with auditors and local management.   
Requirements 
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE  A minimum of 15 years financial experience with at least 5 years experience working as a Financial Controller in an international business.  Currently holds a controllership role in a similar size organization and has ideally worked for a medium size regional/international industrial company within the waste management, facility management, logistics or contracting industry (large capex businesses).   Experience in multi-jurisdictional operations and regional expansion plans is required. Mainly Africa and GCC.  Experience in integrating and disposing of international assets.  Sound technical knowledge of finance, accounting principles and practices.   Highly competent in managing direct reports, and small remote teams.  Ability to negotiate with business partners and manage complex situations.  Robust but pleasant personality with the ability to pro-actively question business practices/status quo to encourage continuous improvement.   Culturally sensitive with the ability to work in a multi-cultural organization with a diverse team in terms of nationalities, backgrounds, religions and beliefs.   Leadership that is centred on energy, focus, creating team spirit and maintaining strong communication lines with all stakeholders.  Analytical, systematic and confidential approach to work.  Positive mind-set, future-oriented and keen to make a difference.  Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external parties.

Indirect Tax (VAT) Senior Manager

The Role 
Based in KSA, as a VAT Senior Manager, you'll join a globally integrated team helping leading organizations to move goods and services around the world more effectively. You'll combine your technical skills and practical experience across industries and geographies to provide tailored advice to clients. This will include identifying risk areas and sustainable planning opportunities for indirect taxes throughout the tax life cycle. You'll advise clients on VAT treatment of new and complex transactions and help resolve classification or other disputes and issues with the authorities. Youre proactive, pragmatic and integrated strategies will help our clients achieve their potential in today's global environment.  Client responsibilities: - Work effectively as a member of a worldwide network of professional advisors, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress - Collaborate with a team of VAT professionals to combine diverse cross-border transaction experience with local tax knowledge across a broad spectrum of industries  - Participate and assist in preparing for meetings with management teams - Assist in preparing reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties - Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel - Build strong internal relationships within the VAT practice, Indirect Tax and across other service lines  Technical responsibilities: - To build a deep understanding of the Gulf Corporation Council ("GCC") Customs Law and its practical application across the GCC member states - To understand and apply the regional Free Trade Agreements  - To understand and apply key customs concepts such as valuation, classification and origin - To identify and discuss VAT considerations for clients to be aware of in their outbound investments  - To engage with colleagues in overseas offices to deliver VAT advice in respect of global jurisdictions - To prepare for the potential introduction of VAT in the GCC and to discuss with clients how this may impact them - To work with internal teams to provide indirect tax expertise for audit and transaction projects  People responsibilities: - Help people to develop through effective supervision, coaching and mentoring of staff  - Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff - Contribute to people initiatives, including recruiting, retaining and training customs and international trade professionals - Maintain an educational program to develop personal skills on an ongoing basis - Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures  
Requirements 
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, actuarial science, business, finance, human resources or a related field (MBA, Masters of Tax, JD and LLM a plus) with strong academic credentials - ACA/CA/ Law qualification / CTA (or equivalent tax qualification) - A Senior Indirect Tax Professional with at least seven to ten years experience - Experience working for a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred. However, we will consider candidates with from law firms or with relevant industry experience. - Customs duty advisory experience is preferable but we will also consider candidates with VAT/GST advisory experience   If you have solid Tax experience in implementing VAT, ideally from Big4 or Industry please apply now!
