Sous Chef Catering - Food Production

The Role 
- Assists in manage a day-to-day operation of the kitchen, coordinate food production schedules and ensure highest level of food quality, taste and presentation.  - Participate in actual food preparation, produce food consistently high quality, taste and presentation and expedite during peak meal periods as needed.  - Control food cost by assisting in training kitchen staff on the proper methods of food preparation and handling, by training kitchen, restaurant and steward employees on how to handle leftover food items.  - Ensure that all kitchen employees consistently adhere to uniform, grooming and appearance standards.  - In conjunction with the Senior Head Chef, establish goals for the kitchen, anticipate and resolve problems concerning all facets of the kitchen, anticipate trends, enact approved profit-oriented and cost saving ideas-activities.  - In conjunction with the Senior Head Chef, develop menus & create and ensure adherence to recipes and product specifications. Train kitchen staff on all new menus.  - Ensure production targets are met in accordance with the operational requirements.  - Plan-design and conduct menu presentations as and when required.  - Monitor and control all aspects of the production of food and ensure that standards are maintained.  - Ensure quality and presentation of all food products are in accordance with the specifications.  - Maintain effective communication within the kitchen, be responsive to staff suggestions and concerns and work to resolve problems.  - Maintain effective working relationship with food and beverage management, staff and other sections within the catering department.  - Conduct regular inspections of the entire kitchen-dishwashing areas and coolers and promptly act to correct deficiencies found during inspection.  - Update menu files and advise kitchen team of any changes.  - Ensure inventory-records food products and kitchen equipment are maintained.  - Ensure that all ISO standards applicable to the section are always followed with records maintained. 
Requirements 
Education & Experience Degree in Hotel & Catering Management preferably in Food & Beverage production having 2 years of relevant work experience in an in a flight kitchen OR 4/5 star hotel / specialised restaurant OR Diploma in Hotel & Catering Management preferably in Food & Beverage production having 4 years of relevant work experience OR Catering Certificate course with Secondary School Certificate having 8 years of relevant work experience Special Skills & Knowledge Knowledge of English (Spoken & Written) Familiar with HACCP systems

Associate Professor - Petroleum Engineering

The Role 
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Head of Department  DEPARTMENT: Petroleum Engineering   FUNCTION: Responsible to the Head of Department for preparation, teaching, assessment and coordination of student learning, as required.  PRIMARY TASKS: • Prepare, present and examine papers offered by the Petroleum Engineering department at undergraduate levels. This involves conducting lectures, tutorials and seminars in courses that have been assigned by the Head of Department. • Provide leadership in all aspects of academic activities such as program development and curriculum planning. • Manage, monitor and evaluate curriculum content and delivery of assigned courses. • Contribute to teaching at undergraduate level in the areas of Petroleum Engineering.  • Work with college members towards the development and execution of the college strategic academic plan. • Provide students with consultation time on course related matters as appropriate.  • Undertake administrative duties in relation to the academic affairs. • Serve on College Committees as appropriate. • Ensure the observance of ACK College policies, procedures and codes of practice in all teaching, research and administrative activities. • Undertake research activities, which lead to publications in international refereed journals, presentations of papers at international and regional conferences and presentations at appropriate seminars.  • Undertake professional development on a regular basis. • Participate in graduation ceremonies.  • Other duties as directed by Head of Department.  LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY: To ensure that teaching and associated duties are carried out to a satisfactory standard.  DIRECTION/SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Undertake tasks under general direction and supervision, based on established policies and procedures, provided by the Head of Department. 
Requirements 
• A PhD in Petroleum Engineering plus 4 years of experience in university teaching, research or serving the professional industry. • 5 peer-reviewed international journals with impact factor.  • Qualities of creativity, initiative and leadership with excellent communication skills. • A strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research and professional service.  Desirable: • Evidence of membership or participation in relevant professional and/or academic associations. • Evidence of senior roles in the wider community.

Requirements 
Paramount to success within this varied role will include: * Leading the mechanical design and related mechanical engineering consultancy duties from project conceptualization to completion within a multi-disciplinary environment.  * Managing the production of mechanical project design documentation in compliance with QA/QC procedures.   * Oversee the use of Autodesk Revit tools to present design and engineering solutions for all projects.  * Provide leadership in research, planning, design and development of building engineering systems, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing and electrical, by providing guidance and instruction to the designated project engineers.  * Attend all coordination and progress meetings and present options and solutions as required.  * Ensure that the KEO QA/QC procedures are followed for the project and work closely with the project team to close out all comments received from the QA/QC reviewers.  * Obtain project related approvals from the relevant local authorities.  * Evaluate preliminary designs and calculations of MEP systems to satisfy target requirements.  * Maintain client focus in the delivery of services of the team.  * Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety legislation and KEO H&S policies.  To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you will bring a minimum of 10 years career experience partnered with a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
