Job Description
General Summary:
To manage the Shredder plant to ensure that it produces as per the name plate design, in a safe and environmentally manner. Managing the manpower for both the operational and maintenance activities of the Shredder plan to include the managing of wear parts, spares, planning and executing the electrical and mechanical components.
Working with internal and external teams to ensure the correct feed mix is provided in the correct quantities to ensure a constant supply of finished product for the EAFs.
This will include but not limited to the following;
Ensuring the suppliers and fully aware of the required feed mix, providing documentation in the form of procedures, work instructions and policies that reflect the safe operation and inspection on all aspects of the feed mix and finished product.
Ensuring that the plant is run and maintained in a safe manner according to manufacturers guidelines. Constantly looking at ways to add value to the plant either to increase the name plate production or reduce the operating costs.
Ensuring that the team is given training and feedback and that a team spirit is developed so that each and every member understands the roles and responsibilities of all the team
Ensuring that the team assist in all aspects of both the operational and maintenance activities.
To liaise with other sections and departments inside ESI for the purpose of common planning, coordination and support for the matters related to handling of scrap.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: General Activities:
Develops the required procedures and work instructions in accordance with IMS and regulatory requirements for smooth and systematic execution of the Shredder Plant activities.
Oversees the coordination of transportation, inventory management, storing, and ensure procedures are in place to monitor the flow of incoming scrap feed mix and distribution, storage of finished product.
Prepares and ensures that sectional expenditures are within the approved annual financial budget.
Prepares yards management plan for effective movement of materials.
Ensures outsourced MH contractor fulfils contractual obligation on sectional tasks.
Solves any operational and technical problems in order to minimize SMP production interruptions.
Liaises with procurement, finance, SMP & SAP team to provide assistance in resolving discrepancies between MH inventory stock, SMP L2 reports (actual consumption) and any other related issue.
Ensures compliance of all relevant safety, quality, health and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to guarantee employees safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality services and a responsible environmental attitude.
Maintains an overview of resources and activities, including future plans and projections, as well as the status of current plan implementation and resource utilization, and reports on related results and trends
Scrap:
Plans, manages and updates the demand/supply monthly and yearly for all scrap required for Steel Making Operations based on the production plan.
Pro-actively manages the timely Receiving, Handling and Inbound Logistics of purchased scrap.
Manages the segregation, preparation and supply of scrap to maximize scrap utilization.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities":
Responsibilities include the establishment and updating of standard procedures; working instructions; equipment planning, procurement and control; quality management support; information management, handling and routing of correspondences, resource and budget planning; training of Shredder staff.
Drives continuous improvement in Logistics and Materials Management while maintaining strong support for SMP Production.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
Prior experience of operating and running an industrial scrap shredder operation, including the maintenance, and logistics of scrap inspection, feeding and charging to the EAF.
Good knowledge of steel manufacturing required related specifications and area of applications and steel quality related issues.
Knowledge and understanding of safety, environment and quality procedures and standards.
Knowledge and understanding of financial planning and budgeting processes.
Technical report writing skills
Conversant in working with computerised work environment, Microsoft office and SAP applications.
English language skills.

- Must have minimum five years experience in ASP.NEt, SQL and Oracle - Must possess strong technical expertise in developing custom made web applications in C#, .NET, ADO.NET, MVC, Web Services, HTML5, CSS, WCF, Ajax, jQuery, Javascript - Must possess experience in system analysis, including defining technical requirements and performing high-level design for complex solutions - Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills - Must possess team management skills - Must possess master degree in Computer Science, CIS or related fields.
