DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Undertake Electrical design and consultancy work including systems design, production, specifications and schedules; provide reports and advice to Clients. Liaise with other design team members internal and external, represent the business at meetings.
• Liaise with and provide focal point for Clients and lead and/or support consultants to ensure that Client interests are more effectively fulfilled.
• Collaborate and work effectively with all personnel involved in the job.
• Adapt a responsible attitude to project management and actively undertake training of subordinate staff.
• Regularly review personal and subordinates’ forward program work load. Develop and frequently review priority lists of programmed tasks.
• Check adequacy and accuracy of information and documentation produced by others.
• Ensure application and maintenance of all Quality System procedures.
• Carry out all personal management duties including weekly recording of man-hour commitments to individual projects and reporting on a monthly basis particular project fee input information. 
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
• Preferably BEng (Hons) degree in Building Services Engineering/Electrical Engineering. Chartered or working towards chartership with IET/CIBSE.
• 12 years post graduate experience 
• Self-motivated with strong technical knowledge and good time management skills 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Good team ethic approach and ability to financially control and project manage
• Proven ability to work independently

Duties and Responsibilities: 
• Interfaces with clients and contractor’s staff to determine and verify project requirements. 
• Checks site conditions for suitability prior to construction. 
• Observes, checks and ensures that work execution is in accordance with approved methods. 
• Reviews ITS, traffic and related material submittals, shop drawings and inspection reports. 
• Generates detailed inspection criteria for all ITS related work to aid the inspectors in assessing the quality and completeness of the contractor’s installations. 
• Prepares and maintains inspection reports and site records. 
• Check that materials delivered are approved and properly stored. 
• Observe site safety procedures. Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Resident Engineer and/or Project Safety Representative. 
• Measure work done when required. 
• Assist in the preparation of ‘as-built’ drawings. 
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. 
• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction supervision of infrastructure projects with focus on application of ITS, e.g. traffic signals. 
• Relevant work experience in Dubai is preferred. 
• Strong analytic capabilities and the ability to work independently. 
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Resident Engineer

The Resident Engineer (Roads) will assist the Senior Resident Engineer in administering the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project, with specific duties related to the work on the road and associated works. He will supervise the work of the site engineers and the work inspectors working on the construction supervision of the road work and the associated works.

Job Accountabilities:
- Direct the site supervision related to road and associated works including the drainage, road’s structures and traffic signals and road’s furniture.
- Coordinate his direct activities with the other discipline RE’s to maintain consistency and integrity in the overall construction.
- Responsible for reviewing all shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, any requests for information relating to the roads and associated works.
- Coordinate with Parsons' design Engineers for resolution of related issues.
- Maintain the Resident Engineer’s daily diary and daily diaries and reports by his subordinates.
- Coordinate with the Contractor on scheduling and application of resources.
- Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the construction team working on the supervision of the construction of the road work and associated works including the site engineers, the work inspectors and the surveyors.
- Coordinate with PWA/PMC, the Contractor and related concerned authorities.
- Advise on contractual and construction matters regarding road work and associated works, utilities diversions and installations, traffic diversions, road’s furniture and other related works.
- Generally supervise, review, monitor and report on progress of the road and associated works.
- Liaise with all parties for site safety.
- Convene and chair regular site meetings about issues related to road work and related activities.
- Issue additional drawings etc. as required in coordination with the design office.
- Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.
- Act positively, and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Senior Resident Engineer, and the Project Safety Representative.
- Comply with safety, health and risk management requirements.
- Provide all necessary on-site direction and issue site instructions with respect to road works, utilities and other related activities.
- Report back as necessary to the Senior Resident Engineer.
- Check and measure the performed work and record and display progress vs. programmed work.
- Prepare progress reports as applicable.
- Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings in the area of his discipline.
- Participate in contract administration.
- BSc Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Min of 14 postgraduate years of experience and a min. of 7 years of similar work experience on large infrastructure projects.
- Regional experience is a must.
- Qualified professional who can manage and coordinate specialized activity, discipline or team of moderate size and complexity.
- Leads in the formulation of advanced technical concepts.
- Provides specialist services in support of project requirements.
- Independently performs highly complex professional assignments demanding contributions calling for the application of specialized principles.

Qualifications: 
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of work experience with roads and highway projects. 
• Knowledge and experience using computer software.
