The Role
The Bank and Broker Dealer GAM manages with overall relationship with Banks and Broker Dealer clients and is accountable for the overall client group Revenues working in active collaboration with relevant Product Partners in addition to maintain a strong focus on Credit and Compliance issues relevant to the client relationship , Ongoing Monitoring and Review of KYC and Transaction Metrics , and interfacing with both internal Governance Committees and External Stakeholders as appropriate in respect of compliance issues Key Roles and Responsibilities * Lead the origination and client relationship management for a portfolio of Bank and Broker Dealer Clients * Collaborate Actively with Product Partners to drive the revenue origination effort * Lead and coach Assistant Credit Analysts/ Client Managers working closely with product partners * Maintain active engagement and high level ('c' suite) contacts with senior executives within client's organisation. * Maintain a strong working relationship with Credit, Legal and Compliance and other key stakeholders Strategy * Lead the development and implementation of the client strategy for the designated portfolio as identified through the Account Planning process * Accountability for delivering financial performance objectives (Revenues, Costs, Returns etc) * Accountability for all other objectives for the management and development of client relationships, specifically compliance (AML, CDD) and credit risk. Business * Actively originate new business and grow the franchise by capitalising on bank's competitive attributes (eg Network, Transaction Banking etc), whilst selectively developing new relationships where required. * Engage senior management and decision makers of key clients to improve the quality of dialogue with clients to position the Bank as a consistent value added partner/trusted advisor status. In this respect, make all efforts to anticipate clients' needs and provide strategic advice, bringing in the relevant product and industry partners as appropriate. * Maximise the profitable revenue to the Bank whilst maintaining focus on client outcomes, strengthening and deepening existing relationships both at the most senior level as well as at the operating level in the clients in the designated portfolio. * Professionally represent Standard Chartered at the highest levels within region and internationally. * Bring strategic thought and vision in to client discussions on the changing Industry and Regulatory landscape regionally/globally. * Ensure that Industry and Regulatory knowledge is continually developed personally and within the team. * Stay abreast and anticipate the Regulatory developments of the Banking industry Processes Proactively manage the designated client portfolio to ensure: * Close collaboration with key stakeholders in Financial Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance, Risk, Compliance, Country CEOs, Service Delivery, etc. * Ensure early identification and management of relevant Risks - both Credit and Compliance * Remain updated on understanding of the regulatory environment, keeping up to date with applicable changes and Group policies with ability to contribute and, where possible, influencing policy formulation * Raise key regulatory risks and concerns to Governance frameworks as appropriate * Ensure adherence to sales disciplines in accordance with CIB standards ie Account Planning, Call Reports preparation , Deal Pipeline Management Develop opportunities through attendance at key Industry events as necessary. People and Talent * Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners. * Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks. * Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles. * Maintain ongoing oversight over team structure/capacity plans. * Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives. Risk Management * Take the initiative regarding regulatory, reputational and ethical matters, taking the initiative for providing proactive advice to clients as identified. Coach and manage the team in these matters and ensure they are adequately trained in and cognisant of regulatory, reputational and ethical risks * Ensure that key regulatory risks and concerns are raised into the governance framework throughout the Corporate teams Governance * Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role. * Responsible for delivering 'effective governance'; capability and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner. Key Stakeholders Internal: * Engage with product partners within the region and globally to ensure breadth and depth of client coverage and deepening. * Work with ARMs to ensure talent development throughout the team * Consult with senior stakeholders in Risk and Legal & Compliance to ensure that the portfolio remains credit worthy and within the policies of the bank. External: * Senior point of contact with IC clients, acting as a trusted advisor to C-level stakeholders * Peers in the Corporate Banking sector
Requirements
* Graduate or Post Graduate degree preferably in related discipline * Preferred Experience in the region * Strong relationships with FIs * In depth knowledge of the Banking sector and products is preferred * Preferred Experience in Financial or Banking Sector
