We are currently recruiting for a Consultant in Paediatric Intensive Care to join their growing PICU team. Key Responsibilities: * Provide specialized Paediatric Intensive Care Services to patients according to current best-evidence based standards and in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulation * Participate equitably in the on-call roster. * Participate in the oversight and professional development of assigned junior medical staff and in the educational activities of the Medical Staff as a whole. * Conduct Clinical Audits in line with Medical Advisory Committee requirements. * Participate in review and planning activities relevant to the development of the Paediatric Service and the Hospital. * Participate in activities and opportunities to promote the Paediatric Service and the Hospital to the general public and wider medical community of Dubai and the UAE. * Fulfils professional requirements for continuing maintenance of competence in all aspects of Paediatric Intensive Care. * Carries out other assigned duties within the appropriate scope of knowledge, skills and abilities of the position.
Requirements
Requirements: * Basic Medical Degree recognised by Dubai Healthcare City Authority. * Completion and certification of a higher professional education program in Paediatric Critical/Intensive Care recognised by Dubai Healthcare City Authority: CCT in Paediatric Critical/Intensive Care, or American Board Certification in Paediatric Critical/Intensive Care, equivalent in Pediatric Intensive Care recognised by Dubai Healthcare City Authority * Proven experience and competence in all aspects of Pediatric Intensive Care. * Minimum of five (5) years' experience, since gaining higher qualification, of which three years should be at a Consultant level. * Experience in a Western hospital setting is highly preferred. * Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, doctors and other hospital staff. * Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education. * Publication in peer reviewed journals would be well regarded. * Demonstrated ability to deliver quality patient care and commitment to quality improvement for better health outcomes * Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and high level of interpersonal and organizational skills is expected of this role. * Fluency in written and spoken English (Arabic language skills are well regarded) * High level of verbal and written communication skills Please note the targeted start date for each position is dependent on the speciality/ level and current timeline for the project. Department/ Job Summary: The Department of Clinical Education ensures a safe transition to practicing at Sidra. The education team is comprised highly skilled clinical educators representing best practice from around the globe. Clinical Educators are assigned to specialty unit areas to support orientation, practice and professional development of clinical staff. The Clinical Educators at Sidra are skilled in multiple modalities of education delivery and are additionally supported by a fully staffed Simulation Center. The Clinical Educator works directly with the unit leadership team and staff to ensure that unit and facility educational needs are met. The educator assesses and analyzes learning needs for clinical staff, plans, implements and evaluates educational activities that support clinical care. Sidra supports an inter-professional learning environment, allowing multidisciplinary teams to provide the safest patient and family care. The role includes opportunities to facilitate large training programs as well as individual learner feedback and mentoring.
Requirements
Essential Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Nursing * 5+ years of clinical experience in the relevant field within a North American Academic Institution or equivalent in UK, Republic of Ireland, EU States, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand * 2+ years of recent experience in an educator role or supervisory role with educator responsibilities in the relevant field * Current Nursing License from country of origin * Ability to think critically and communicate effectively * Demonstrated ability to manage constant change, including technological developments * Demonstrated Skills/ ability to convey knowledge in various ways * Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite * Fluency in written and spoken English Preferred: * Master's Degree in Education or Nursing related field * Certificate/diploma in leadership, education or attendance at a course * 7+ years in relevant practice setting in a Paediatric Hospital * 5+ years' experience in paediatric educator/manager role in a Paediatric Hospital * Strong knowledge in theories of teaching, learning and evaluation A full job description available upon request. Job Summary: The Supervisor - Speech Language Pathology is responsible for leading and demonstrating the provision of safe, patient and family focused quality care. The Supervisor - Speech Language Pathology is a key member of the inter-professional team and ensures that standards for speech language therapy care are adhered to at service level. The Supervisor - Speech Language Pathology works collaboratively with the Manager - Speech Language Pathology to ensure that commissioning, recruitment, onboarding, orientation and service activation responsibilities are carried out in accordance with Sidra's plans and timelines. Roles and Responsibilities: * Serves as a professional and role model for staff and is an advocate for patients and their families demonstrating behaviors consistent with the organizational/ education competency framework, Sidra values, policies, procedures and guidelines * Participates in planning and program direction in accordance with organizational and departmental goals and objectives * Provides supervision and guidance to staff ensuring that all care is provided in accordance with Divisional Core Standards and established policies and procedures * Evaluates and ensures that individualized discharge planning needs are assessed on admission * Ensures an inter-professional approach to facilitate a timely discharge or transfer to the next level of care or home * Ensures safe patient care by making patient assignments based on patient acuity and skill mix * Evaluates and ensures that clinical documentation, diagnoses and plans of care are integrated and effective in delivering an individual plan of care * Promotes a safe environment and safe patient care by embracing a safety culture and identifying areas of risk * Demonstrates an understanding of evidence-based healthcare methodology and its ability to positively impact patient outcomes * Participates in the integration and evaluation of research into practice * Utilizes outcome measures to evaluate effectiveness of care through the review of data and the questioning of inconsistencies * Works towards the achievement of agreed key performance indicators for self and unit * Identifies patient care issues and/ or strategies to improve and positively impact on the quality of care and patient outcomes * Collaborates with the Manager - Speech Language Pathology and Clinical Educators in planning, implementation and evaluation of patient/ family and staff education * Applies problem solving techniques and evidence based solutions to service related issues. Evaluates and ensures appropriate escalation of issues to meet patient/ family/ staff needs and resolve conflicts * Communicates effectively and efficiently with patients, families and colleagues, addresses patient/ family complaints immediately and assists in the investigation of written complaints
Requirements
Essential Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Speech Language Pathology/ Therapy * 5+ years of experience inclusive of 2+ years progressive management experience in specialty area * Registration as a Speech Language Pathologist/ Therapist and Licensure in Country of Origin * Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) in Speech Language Pathology from a program accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, or equivalent * Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and motivate teams to meet care objectives * Demonstrated ability to delegate, supervise, and evaluate the performance of clinical interventions Qualifications/ Specialisation - as per the client's requirements.
