Job Description To lead detailed System and Application Software engineering configuration, design, assembly and testing team of various Control Systems and Human Machine Interface as per the Project requirements. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Lead the DCS Engineering Team in a project. Responsible for Hardware and Software Engineering. Reviewing the Project technical specification requirements and Standards. FEED (Front End Engineering Design) experience of projects. As part of FEED work, ensure design standardisation meeting control system and project requirements, technical review of project sepcfications, provide value added engineering solutions. Responsible for Design of System Architecture, IO assignments, Panel Design and Engineering. Provide technical solutions for complex control schemes, Alarm Management, Third party interface requirements (Modbus, OPC), Asset Management to meet project requirements. Provide solutions for HMI design to meet project requirements. Ensure optimised engineering through usage of engineering tools. Conduct design reviews to ensure quality deliverables and meet YMA QMS requirements. Review of work procedures and product specifications. Reporting to the Project Manager on day to day activities. Performing detailed engineering, design, assembly and testing of the control system as per the Customer requirements. Preparation and review of Hardware and Software related Bill Of Material for various Systems. Coordination with Customer Engineers for technical issues. Preparation and review of Purchase Order for various Projects Materials. Coordination with Document Controller for Control of Project documentation and QC Engineer for Inspection and Testing related activities. Arranging Internal Meeting for achieving Project milestones. Project Progress Monitoring and control. Adhering to the Project Schedule & Project Quality Plan. Preparation of Scope of work deviations and tracking. Participating site acceptance test, commissioning and start-up activities.

Head of Mechanical – HVAC Department: HVAC Section: Design Department Job Location: Kuwait Reporting to: Head of MEP ROLE OBJECTIVE To lead the company’s HVAC Section (Design Department) and all its projects from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, quality requirements and contract obligations in order to fulfill client requirements DETAILED ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES STRATEGIC - Assist top management in the development of long-term strategic objectives for the HVAC section - Assist top management in developing norms, manuals, procedures, certificates and forms - Adopt appropriate measures to optimize costs and increase profitability OPERATIONAL - Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and standards, applicable laws and regulations; monitor all section staff and ensure their compliance to the same - Understand owner/client requirements as reflected in TORs/RFPs issued by owners/clients; attend pre-tender meetings as and when required in order gain clarifications on owner/client requirements - Provide the Proposals Department inputs (e.g. man month requirements, design cost estimates etc.) regarding the contribution of the HVAC section to projects - Support other Heads of Sections in the evaluation of proposals submitted by sub-consultants during RFPs issued by; recommend sub-consultants for HVAC design services based on owner/client requirements - Establish internal project milestones, timeframes and assign staff to projects; supervise section staff and ensure that HVAC designs are completed within the allocated timeframe - Inspire HVAC engineers to adopt innovative approaches to the design of HVAC systems and components - Monitor and ensure that HVAC engineers are coordinating effectively with the various architects and engineers throughout the project (planning, concept, preliminary, final etc.) - Ensure accurate design input values for the project’s load calculation by conducting regular checks - Ensure use of the latest versions in software through regular interaction and coordination with IT team - Monitor the heating /cooling load calculations output and analyze the same - Ensure that the smoke ventilation, HVAC load and shelter design and calculations comply with Kuwait Fire Department, MEW and civil defense department requirements - Supervise and approve the development of HVAC designs from concept to completion; ensure the following: > Designs effectively respond to client/owner requirements (e.g. designs based on owner/clients budget etc.) > Drawings comply with local statutory requirements for HVAC components and systems > Drawings are fully functional, making adequate provisions for the designs developed by the other disciplines (e.g. architecture, Public Health etc.) - Exercise quality control of drawings produced by the section, ensuring that they adhere to quality and CAD standards - Remain abreast on changes in local statutory requirements regarding HVAC systems and components - Ensure that HVAC components and materials specified for HVAC designs are relevant and comply with statutory requirements; ensure that the specifications and BoQ documents is updated to reflect any changing statutory requirements - Ensure that ministerial approvals for HVAC designs are gained in a timely manner by HVAC engineers - Assist on site HVAC engineers by responding to technical queries which they raise; assist site staff in verifying sample materials submitted by contractors (as and when required) to ensure compliance against ministerial requirements and specifications - Attend site meetings (e.g. progress meetings, coordination and specially called meetings etc.) as and when required - Update the HVAC standard details, specifications, testing and supervision manuals on a periodic basis; ensure that all updates are communicated to all section staff PEOPLE MANAGEMENT - Determine the structure, size and composition of design teams based on project requirements - Ensure to provide engineers clear and concise instructions in order to avoid confusion, re-work and errors; follow up with staff to ensure compliance against requirements - Nominate engineers for training (e.g. seminars and technical workshops etc.) to develop their technical skills - Provide technical assistance to section engineers and draftsmen as and when required - Appraise the performance of engineers and draftsmen within the section; ensure to provide continuous feedback and guidance to keep performance on track - Assist Human Resources in conducting recruitment activities for the HVAC section; Interview applicants as and when required

EDUCATION/QUALIFCATIONS - Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE - 15-20 years’ experience in design and supervision that includes designing, supervising and leading HVAC staff in establishing HVAC Systems for multiple large and complex projects. - BIM experience is a must.
