As Finance Manager for Emerging Markets, you will have a unique opportunity to design, build, and run the finance function across 3 different regions and 7 countries. Emerging Markets is one of our biggest markets, therefore you will be expected to play a critical role in building and mentoring the regional teams, recording transactions, improving business performance, coordinating with markets, and ensuring our compliance. Reporting directly to Emerging Markets General Manager and working in close consultation with the basecamp finance team, he/she will also provide financial support to the regional General Managers to ensure we achieve our aggressive growth targets in Emerging Markets.
Accounting
• Maintain accurate transaction recording process and GL maintenance.
• Coordinate with markets for cash flow projections, bookkeeping, account reconciliations.
• Review the reconciliations of payments, verification, bank statements, and transfers.
• Supervise/Process payroll for all cities, and resolve vendor disputes.
• Managing cash flow and petty cash reporting process for all cities.
Reporting
• Process month and year end statements and ensure consistent financial reporting.
• Maintain monthly budgets and performance actuals against targets.
Compliance and Legal
• Ensure compliance with Group internal controls and financial policies, and local reporting and tax regulations.
• Coordinate and complete annual audits in a timely manner.
• Handling Legal notices and queries and support business team with legal understanding and relevant application of laws to the company.
• Fraud identification and prevention.
Banking
• Manage banking relationships, cash management solutions.
Team
• Build and develop the local accounting team.
• Supervise and oversee the daily operations of the local accounting team.
• Monitor the workload and prioritize tasks for the team.

• 7-9 years of PQE

• Experience building function from scratch and managing regional teams
• Excellent communication skills in English and an additional language (Arabic preferred) would be considered

Supreme Customer Service is fundamental at Careem, and we want to wow our Captains (drivers) every time! The purpose of the Supply Lead role is to assist the local Operations teams in doing just that. You will be responsible for making bold decisions and working in an agile way in order to deliver a first class service working in a multi-skilled position across 3 different areas of the Training, Captain Support Peak Management.
