Corporate Finance Strategy Manager - Oil & Gas Focus - Dubai

EY’s global Strategy business is a successful and fast growing strategy capability that advises the best known global and regional clients on their most complex strategic decisions. Our Strategy capability sits at the heart of EY’s global strategy, that has seen large investments over the last few years, including the acquisition of Parthenon, acquisition of OC&C’s Dutch and French businesses, and on-boarding of a large number of Direct Admit Partners from well-known strategy firms. The focus of the Strategy practice, also known as Parthenon-EY in many parts of the world, is to work closely with our clients to build investible and practical strategies that help them increase distance from their competition.

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Manager in our Strategy team in MENA. The Strategy practice focuses on helping clients in their strategic decisions such as portfolio and growth strategies for the regional family businesses; inbound entry/expansion decisions for global corporate clients; commercial/business due diligence for private equity and sovereign wealth funds and inbound corporate clients; evaluation of greenfield investment, partnership/JV/franchising, divestment and other such strategic decisions; and privatisation and corporatisation decisions for governments. EY’s Strategy consultants typically work directly with the C-Suite on their strategic and transaction decisions.

The Strategy practice’s growth strategy has sector specialism, accounts focus and aggressive relationship building as its three cornerstones. It is in the process of filling some gaps in its leadership team and looking to recruit high calibre, ambitious leaders for the following sectors in the MENA region:

• Oil & Gas

The Strategy practice is housed inside our EY’s large Transactions Advisory Services (TAS) practice that focuses on advising clients on their capital agenda – investing, raising, preserving and optimising capital. • Lead the delivery of client engagements across the region to a high standard while ensuring that quality of the client relationship moves to the next level during delivery.

• Master's degree (business, finance, economics, …) from a reputable school.
• 5+ years of experience primarily in strategy development – including at least 3 years in the sector/s mentioned above and at least 3 years with a reputable consulting firm (knowledge of consulting works). Pure industry experience without consulting experience is not sufficient.
• Exceptional problem solving, project management, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong executive presence working with CEO and board level audiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong command over developing and making compelling presentations.
• Keen ability to conduct detailed analysis of industries including value chains, products, markets, competitors, customers, channels, supply chains - from strategic, financial and operational perspectives.
