Senior Urban & Master Plan Designer

We are currently looking for a degree qualified Urban Designer with a minimum of 10 years experience to join our team in Dubai.

Essential Competencies:

Client management experience
A degree qualified individual in Urban Design/Architecture/ Landscape Architecture
10+ years post graduate experience within the design consultancy environment
Capability and experience in designing to the highest international standards
Leading design experience in the day-to-day project development without detailed supervision
Technical multidisciplinary co-coordination experience
Experience with the following software: AutoCad, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite CS6
Desirable:

Registration with a professional body
Middle East experience including authorities approvals
Applicants should possess good commercial awareness and solid financial management ability
They should have strong leadership and managerial qualities
Proven team management and communication skills are essential attributes for this post
Experience of using Revit, MicroStation or ArcGIS

Responsibilities:

Master plan preparation and layout planning for projects in the Middle East
Preparation of urban design and development control guidelines for major planning projects
Team leader of medium and large scale projects involving multi-disciplinary teams
Will be required to travel within the Middle East and Central Asian region to projects in a variety of geographical locations
Be responsible for project planning, management of projects and meeting agreed budgets

Senior Quantity Surveyor - MEP

We are currently seeking to employ several Senior MEP Quantity Surveyors for the Abu Dhabi office with strong experience of both pre-contract services, namely cost planning and estimating, bills of quantities production and tender services and post contract commercial administration i.e. payments, variations, claims etc. Note the role will entail you to being direct client facing at both stages of the project deliver reporting into our Regional MEP Director.

Key Responsibilities:
• Managing a dedicated MEP team across project, for project specific deliverables/ duties and for delivery of large scale mega “Lifestyle” project at both pre and post contract stages;
• Client point of contact for specialist MEP project delivery;
• Pre-contract MEP services: feasibilities, cost planning and estimating, Bill of Quantity productions, tender evaluation, analysis, negotiations and recommendations, peer reviews, cost data-base, value engineering, risk management etc.
• Post-contract MEP services: commercial management of contract (POMI, FIDIC Red Book Contract), contract administration (contractual and commercial correspondences, claims, delay analysis etc.), interim valuations and payment certificates, variations analysis, recommendations and management, performing risk and value management and cost control functions, undertaking costs analysis project work, identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks, compilation of detailed progress/ cost reports, weekly and monthly reporting to client representative on all commercial issues, heading commercial meetings, understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.

• Degree in Quantity Surveying from recognised UK university, or other RICS accredited qualification;

• MRICS preferred but not essential; undertaking to work towards achieving MRICS;
• Must have consultant and/or client background for minimum of 3 years;
• Previous experience of FIDIC Red Book Contracts is preferred but not essential;
• Knowledge in the use of QS software CATO or similar is preferred, although not essential;
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
• Independent worker who can lead teams of commercial staff;
• Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills.

Due to our continued success in the Abu Dhabi, we are now seeking to add an MRICS Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established professional team, committed to technical integrity, innovation and development of its people.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-contract:
• Cost Planning and estimating (BCIS and NRM1);
• Value Engineering, cash flow forecasts, Whole Life Costing, risk management;
• Bills of Quantities production (POMI and CESSM3);
• Tender services including compilation, tender analysis, negotiations and recommendations;
• Contract drafting (FIDIC);

Post contract:
• Management of bonds, insurances and guarantee logs;
• Interim valuations and payment certificates;
• Variations analysis, recommendations and management;
• Risk and value management and cost control functions;

• Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks;
• Preparation of progress/ cost reports;

Telecommunications Installation Team Leader

The ICT&S department provides consultancy to the Property, Rail & Infrastructure Sectors within Atkins. The department has a regional remit and is currently working on projects in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and the UK as well as in the UAE (Dubai and Abu Dhabi).

The department is now expanding on the back of new business won and this is expected to continue growing steadily.

Successful applicant will provide leadership of IPND site installation teams which will be embedded with vendor installation units (Installation Services) for sites across the region. Main focus is on the delivery in accordance with tasking instructions for the PMO/Master scheduler.

Essential requirements:

Ability to direct installation teams (ISP/OSP/minor Civil Works)
Responsible for reporting of timely progress status information in accordance with Programme Governance Principles
Responsible for safe working environment and compliance with HSE & E regulations
Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical installations
Production of accurate design and installation and configuration information
Responsible for site acceptance and Technical Transfer to support regime in accordance with ITSM principles
Must have a minimum of 6 years experience working on telecommunication projects
Ability to operate autonomously at multiple locations
Ability to make installation decisions in accordance with NDRs and appropriate regulations
Ability to rapidly resolve issues locally and to exercise appropriate decision making discretion
Ability to liaise with other regional and local authorities
Ability to operate at a fast pace
Escalation of issues that cannot be resolved locally to Rapid Response Team for urgent action.
Typical experience:

Telecomms roll-out - must have a min of 6 years experience
Ex- Mil (signals, deployed ops etc)
Ex-MOD Experience (not essential)
