Lead Finance Officer - Interline - Qatar Airways - Doha

In the role of Lead Finance Officer - Interline, you will be responsible (part of a team) to control and ensure timely and accurate Interline Passenger and UATP processing, billing and accounting activities within passenger revenue accounting unit performed by our outsourced processing unit (BPO).

You will also perform detailed analysis on existing Special Prorate Agreements (SPA) and Codeshare performance with Carriers/Airlines with a key focus on Revenue leakages areas to stop adverse financial impact on Qatar Airways.

Key accountabilities of the role:
- Ensure timely and accurate Outward and Inward processing and billing submission of Interline Passenger (ICH-IATA Clearing House) performed by BPO (Prime, Rejections and Correspondence).
- Ensure timely and accurate Outward and Inward processing and billing submission of Non-IATA Clearing House (Non-ICH) billing.
- Ensure corrective and preventive action taken by BPO to address the errors identified during internal QC.
- Manage other activities of Passenger Interline as per IATA Revenue Accounting Manual (RAM)
- Ensure timely submission of Interline reports to QR Commercial department (Alliance Team)
- To review conditions of SPA, codeshare, re-protection agreements and its amendments before sign-off to HO Commercial Interline team.
- Review and submission of monthly reconciliation of all Interline balance sheet/P&L accounts to Financial Accounting Team
- You will be responsible to handle Invoices received from vendors/IATA/BPO are recorded and maintained. Co-ordinate with relevant parties to ensure invoices are raised correctly and verify the invoices as per valid contract / published rates. Budgets to be prepared in accordance with these invoiced details
- Review of Early Warning Report (EWS) and/or any additional report such as Self-audit of a specific area added on-going basis and monthly submission to Finance Senior Management 
- In addition, you will oversee and supervise staff, directing daily activities, and ensuring that support in provided to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Commerce or related subject
- IATA/UFTAA Foundation/Advance course
- Professional accounting certificate - e.g. CA/CPA/ACCA/CIMA or MBA Finance from reputed institute or university 

Previous Experience:
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in handling Interline related work in either an airline or outsourcing environment (BPO) is required.
- Preferably you will be experienced as a Team leader or similar position in previous role 

Job Specific Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of Passenger Revenue Accounting Interline process and system functionality
- Thorough knowledge of IATA Revenue Accounting Manual (RAM) and IATA Clearing House/Simplified Interline Settlement (ICH/SIS) manuals.
- Working knowledge of MS office, reporting tool such as Business Object etc.
- Strong English language skills, both verbal and written
- Proven analytical skills and highly knowledgeable in passenger tariffs
- Self–confident, self-motivated, sociable personality

Sitting within the Qatar Airways Cargo Finance Division, you will be supporting cargo Finance, providing financial analysis to ensure optimal allocation of resources, providing insightful information and assisting the department to follow Group accounting policies as appropriate.

Key accountabilities of the role:
• Assist develop advanced financial models and conduct analysis using a broad range of quantitative tools and techniques (trend analyses on past financial and operational performance, root cause analyses, analysis of profitability drivers, scenario modelling for future options, unit-cost benchmarking, etc.)
• Assist establish corporate and department financial goals and work with departments to build budgets and forecasts meeting these targets

We are looking for a strong Finance professional with a Master's degree in business, finance or operations. 

The idea candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a financial analyst in the cargo/freight industry, and demonstrated experience in extracting and analyzing airline revenue data using SAS or SQL or other tools; developing models and forecasting; and having advanced data query skills and the ability to work with large datasets.

Experience-wise, you will have 3-5 years of Finance related experience with the following job specific skills:
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in the organization
• Knowledge of Excel Macros, VBA and Databases
