About the Company

This market leading multi $billion retailer within UAE as well as other GCC countries is currently looking for a VP of Supply Chain with a focus on E-commerce & Omni-channel operations. 

Job Summary

In this exciting role you will be responsible for providing leadership over product strategy, roadmaps, market opportunities and product feature sets. Your job role includes the highly critical e-commerce and Omni-Channel systems infrastructure to deliver very high availability and speed of products, direct to consumer. Further, you will negotiate contracts and manage 3rd party relationships to ensure appropriate pricing, security and terms of use for technology suppliers. 

Job Scope

- To develop, modernize and transition the e-commerce supply chain operations for Omni channel to support significant planned growth 
- To prepare yearly business plans & budgets for all logistics activities for UAE. 
- To be responsible for the efficiency of all distribution centers in UAE. 
- To continuously investigate and propose more efficient and cost saving ways of distributing products to stores. 
- Driving logistics & supply chain strategy, consulting and technology offerings to new and existing clients, ensuring offerings are relevant and timely.
- To ensure consistency of service delivery; agreeing process standards, ensuring with the management that all stores, staff and processes comply with high-end supply chain & logistics international standards 
- To determine overall working practices to establish & continuously monitor all supply chain and logistics within the department. 
- To monitor Third Party performance against set criteria as per agreed standards, recommends continued use of contractors. 
- Lead the effort in developing a highly prioritized short and long-term Distribution strategy that supports growth in the retail business (including eCommerce fulfillment), drives out costs and delivers high level of store in stock levels.
- Coach, develop and manage large teams.
Key Qualifications and Job Requirements

- 10-15 years gained in major retail environments, including minimum of 10 years in director of logistics & supply chain management positions 
- Strong working knowledge of an Omni-channel / e-commerce environment.
- 3+ years e-commerce supply chain experience in setting up or handling the operations of Omni channel retailers that include business analysis, either within a consultancy or the online division of an established retailer.
- Some tangible major project management experience 
- Should combining "hands-on" operational track record and strong strategic skills 
- Logistics & Supply Chain experience gained in large and renowned retail chains is a must 
- Significant multi-national / multi-cultural experience, working experience in Middle East preferred

Description

* Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analysing account information.
* Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
* Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
* Summarise financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
* Produce payroll by initiating computer processing; printing checks, verifying finished product.
* Complete external audit by analysing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors.


Job Offer

Operations Director

Owned by a $1bn holding company, this market leading 3PL business with a solid customer base, made up of multinational brands is currently looking for an Operations Director to manage both logistics & warehousing and to drive sales / business development for new key customers.

This 3PL is a market leader in fulfilment, warehousing and logistics services with major developments in the courier and freight industries to be the pick - pack service for all businesses.
This position will be responsible for meeting the regional distribution and logistics requirements to support the rapid expansion plans that are in place. You will negotiate contracts and manage 3rd party relationships to ensure appropriate pricing, security and terms of use for technology suppliers. The successful candidate will work to generate and retain strong business relationships within KSA.

You will need to have a worked in the KSA for a period of time to have business relationships here, to be successful. 

Key Responsibilities;

- Drive continuous improvement programs across the DCs
- Drive business development, supporting with brining on new clients through existing relationships and networking to utilize the large capacity of the Warehouse / Logistics capabilities of this business. 
- Assess the integration of 3PL partners across the DCs and packing centres across the zones
- Leading the development of a detailed and standard picking solutions menu for the zones
- Partnering with supply planning and customer care to drive a step change in customer service
- To prepare yearly business plans & budgets for all logistics activities for UAE. 
- To be responsible for the efficiency of all distribution centres in UAE. 
- To continuously investigate and propose more efficient and cost saving ways of distributing products to stores. Providing Finance the detailed monthly analysis of Sales & each Warehouse Utilization.
- Recommends to GM disciplinary actions re poor performers, and promotions to GM for deserving good performers when senior positions are available. 
- Assist Sales Department in calculating storage cost by providing the required foot prints / area especially the floor storage requirements.
- To determine overall working practices to establish & continuously monitor logistics operations within the department. 
- To monitor Third Party performance against set criteria as per agreed standards, recommends continued use of contractors. 
- Establish and maintain strong and long term relationships with existing accounts, identify opportunities and develop strategies for market growth within KSA
- Implementing value creation programs like Labour Management Systems etc.

Key Qualifications and Job Requirements

- Western educated 
- Have a track record in KSA from another 3PL
- Hold both Logistics & Commercial Management skill sets.
- Should combining "hands-on" operational track record and strong strategic skills 
- Significant multi-national / multi-cultural experience, working experience in Middle East preferred 

The person

- At least 10 years of DC or warehouse management experience; additional supply chain experience is welcomed.
- Strong commercial relationship within KSA is a must.
- Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated strengths managing across boundaries (internal and external)
- Excellent communicator with strong negotiation and relationship management skills. Both target/customer oriented. High level of autonomy and integrity. 
- Knowledge depth in change management and Lean Management Tools are preferred
- Strong, decisive leader with effective interpersonal skills and strong background in business development.
