Our Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) team works with clients to manage their capital agenda to drive competitive advantage and increased returns. We currently have an opportunity for a Senior in our Corporate Finance Strategy (CFS) team in MENA. CFS focuses on helping clients in their strategic decisions such as portfolio and growth strategies for the regional family businesses; inbound entry/expansion decisions for global corporate clients; commercial/business due diligence for private equity and sovereign wealth funds and inbound corporate clients; evaluation of greenfield investment, partnership/JV/franchising, divestment and other such strategic decisions; and privatisation and corporatisation decisions for governments. CFS consultants typically work directly with the C-Suite on their strategic and transaction decisions.


The Transactions Advisory Services practice focuses on advising clients on their capital agenda –investing, raising, preserving and optimising capital. We source, design, structure, evaluate and execute acquisition, investment, divestment, financing, privatisation, restructuring and listing decisions for our clients.

Responsibilities

•Develop and analyse business plans and pro-forma financial models to help identify key assumptions and drivers behind the business forecasts.
•Think like an entrepreneur and use creative techniques, analyses and presentations to answer clients’ most important questions.
•Execute various analyses (e.g., customer requirements, market sizing, competitor analysis) for the purpose of understanding the impacts of these analyses on the target's forecast.
•Design and facilitate in-depth interview programs with key company stakeholders, industry experts.
•Design statistically relevant consumer research, monitor its execution by third party research companies, and analyse results to derive conclusions relevant to client’s key questions.
•Perform secondary research using a variety of business sources (e.g. analyst reports, market research reports, press clippings).
•Support the project from initial data collection and analysis to creating final client deliverables that meet EY quality standards.
•Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services and help document the engagement procedures performed against objectives.
•Support the CFS Sector Leader and managers in building high quality client relationships, developing sharp points of view, developing winning proposals, and developing sector focused thought leadership.
•Build and maintain relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels and other EY TAS teams on the engagement.
Qualifications 

To qualify, candidates must have:

•A bachelor's degree and approximately 2-3 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 1-2 years of related work experience.
•A degree in business, economics, or engineering and a strong academic record; other majors will be considered on an individual basis. An MBA is a significant advantage.
•Approximately 1-2 years of work experience in strategy consulting, private equity, investment banking, market research.
•A keen ability to conduct detailed analysis of industries including value chains, products, markets, competitors, customers, channels, supply chains - from financial and operational perspectives.
•Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis and the ability to synthesise findings and link them to client issues.
•Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Executive presence.
•A dedication to teamwork and commitment to staying at the cutting edge of knowledge in focused industries.

The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel, when necessary. Estimated travel is approximately 25% of the time.

The role:

•Play a leadership role in helping grow our MENA Commercial Advisory Services practice.
•Take responsibility for achieving sales and revenue targets in their sector.
•Build high quality relationships at senior client levels based on sharp sector points of view, strategic insights focused on specific client situations, and keen market intelligence. 
•Leverage EY’s strong position and client base in MENA to create/respond to CFS opportunities.
•Help in building the CFS delivery capability with high quality people, training, coaching and giving the team high quality experiences.
•Lead the delivery of client engagements across the region to a high standard while ensuring that quality of the client relationship moves to the next level during delivery.
•Become a source of opportunities for other parts of EY.
•Design and execute analyses on clients’ problems and markets to validate key hypotheses. Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must have:

•A bachelor's degree and 8-10 years of related work experience; or a master's degree and approximately 7-9 years of related work experience
•A degree in business, finance, economics, engineering and/or other appropriate academic major.
•A minimum of 6 years of experience primarily in strategy development of which at least 4 years in one of the four sectors mentioned above.
•An MBA from a prestigious business school and/or experience of working in the industry (one of the four mentioned above) is a significant advantage.
•A keen ability to conduct detailed analysis of industries including value chains, products, markets, competitors, customers, channels, supply chains - from financial and operational perspectives.

We are looking for an experienced indirect tax advisor to join our team based in Muscat (Oman) to help drive the indirect tax practice forward.

Our indirect tax professionals help clients identify opportunities and mitigate indirect tax risks. They use their deep sector experience and knowledge of different legal and regulatory systems around the world to help clients meet their compliance obligations as well as achieve their business goals and provide pragmatic commercial help so clients improve their day-to-day compliance with indirect tax obligations. This includes improving working capital, reducing errors, reducing costs and ensuring indirect taxes are handled correctly. They advise how indirect taxes such as value added tax (VAT) and customs duty impinge on the client’s global supply chain and financial and accounting systems.

Job purpose: To contribute to the efficient and successful delivery of indirect tax services to the client 

Your client responsibilities
• Build and maintain tax relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service
• Build relationships both within the firm and externally with clients, identifying opportunities and managing expectations
• Manage the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical/business driven approach taken
• Responsible for day-to-day delivery of client liaison
• Key member of one of the client service groups providing full tax services to a client portfolio

Your technical responsibilities 
• To build a deep understanding of the Gulf Corporation Council (“GCC”) Customs Law and its practical application across the GCC member states
• To understand and apply the regional Free Trade Agreements
• To understand and apply key customs concepts such as valuation, classification and origin
• To identify and discuss VAT considerations for clients to be aware of in their outbound investments
• To engage with colleagues in overseas offices to deliver VAT advice in respect of global jurisdictions
• To prepare for the potential introduction of VAT in the GCC and to discuss with clients how this may impact them
• To work with internal teams to provide indirect tax expertise for audit and transaction projects

Your people responsibilities
• Team player; ability to integrate with new teams quickly
• Outgoing with good relationship skills and the ability to deliver quality output
• An indirect tax consultant/advisor for two to three years.
• Experience working for a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred. However, we will consider candidates with from law firms or with relevant industry experience.
