Procurement Manager - Civil Engineering Contractor- Malaysia Are you a Senior Procurement Manager with experience of heavy civil works? Have you worked with major civil engineering contractors in South East Asia region and do you have a keen interest in transferring your experience to the expanding market in Malaysia? If so then please read on…… The Highfield Company are instructed to search on behalf of a major construction contractor in Malaysia who have recently commenced a 200km Railway Infrastructure build project and have various other projects in the country. We are tasked with securing Procurement Manager candidates with a solid history of working in Malaysia and the region. Key areas of expertise and experience required are as follows; * Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Procurement Manager. * Exposure to Malaysian market is essential. * Experience with main construction contractors is essential. * Previous team leadership / management is essential. * Rail and infrastructure procurement experience is beneficial. * Degree qualified within a construction field In exchange for your skills and experience our client is prepared to put together a competitive salary and benefits package including annual flights, full board whilst in camp as well as medical cover. Commercial Manager - Blue Chip Contractor- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia We have a current vacancy for a Commercial Manager responsible for our client's major civil infrastructure projects in Malaysia. Due to continued growth and new project wins our client is seeking to increase its commercial team capacity. You will act as the commercial manager across a range of civil engineering projects and will report directly to the relevant project director as well as the corporate commercial manager. The client themselves are a privately owned tier one local construction contractor and have projects across Malaysia. This role would suit a highly experienced professional with a combination of the following attributes; * Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering. * Operated as number one commercial responsible on a variety of projects in the past. * Project level commercial experience. * Proven track record in large infrastructure and build projects. * Expert level of FIDIC knowledge and experience. * Experience within tender planning and bid proposal environments. * Procurement experience is essential. * English speaking and literate in English language contracts. In exchange for your skills and expertise the client is offering a total tax free package of up to $15k USD per month. The role of construction manager for our client is the critical link and driving force behind all construction related aspects of a project. You will be working closely with the senior management team and client with responsibility for all site based construction and will enjoy being out on site. Your duties will include: * Developing good working relationships and close liaison with clients. * Managing health, safety and environment issues. * Maintaining a high standard of quality work. * Safely will be advantageous as will experience of working with the CDM regulations and ISO9001 quality processes. * Knowledge and experience of Primavera P6, online project collaboration tools, Microsoft Project, the Microsoft Office suite of applications will be beneficial. Risk Engineer - Major Projects - London We are working with one of the leading main contractors on HS2 based on the Southern section of the project. Within a project of the size, scale and complexity it is essential that the risk is managed carefully. Due to this they are now looking to bring on board a risk engineer. The duties of the risk engineer will include; Tasks: * Assisting the Risk Manager to establish and implement an overall risk management process for the project; * Risk assessment, which involves analysing risks as well as identifying, describing and estimating the risks affecting the project; * Engaging with the different teams in order to achieve an overall understanding of the project risks; * Risk evaluation, which involves comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the project such as costs, legal requirements and environmental factors, and evaluating the project's previous handling of risks; * Providing information to the Risk Manager to assist risk reporting in an appropriate way for different audiences (e.g. Project Director, Department Heads, ExCo Board, etc.) to ensure risk awareness at all project levels, specific parts of the JV business and to individuals to understand their accountability for individual risks; * Helping the Risk Manager to carry out audits of policy and compliance to standards; They are looking for a degree qualified engineer with experience working in the civil engineering sector.
