You will lead a team of amazing engineers to improve the developer experience for engineers at Careem. You will partner with engineering leaders across Careem to ensure alignment about engineering challenges and opportunities. Key responsibilities include: - Lead a team of software engineers in implementing high quality services including design, development, and deployment of new business functionality. - Allocate available resources to meet operating objectives. Interacts with direct reports, customers and peers to share information and improve cross-departmental processes. - Assist your teams in developing roadmaps for system and product growth, then identify, plan, and execute projects to support that growth - Strong ability to coach developers, helping them improve their skills and grow their careers - Experience solving large-scale engineering challenges - Encourages and supports others to take on responsibility, authority, and accountability. - 10-20% of coding may still be required for this role.

DevOps Engineers will be involved in the full life cycle of an application and a team members of an agile development process, responsible for the design and implementation of application build, release, deployment, and configuration activities. Other responsibilities include working with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototyping, architecting, implementing/updating CICD solutions, exploring tools, release management process automation, deployment automation, environment setups, managing operations, and triaging and fixing operational issues. Responsibilities - Sets up and maintains the test environments for both manual and automated testing. - Explore and implement latest tools and technology suited to implement CICD within the Organization. - Builds automated deployments using configuration management technology. - Develop Provisioning scripts for QA and Production simulated environment and upgrader scripts. - Deploys new modules, upgrades and fixes to the production environment. - Documents and completes knowledge transfer to production support. - Works with Release Management to ensure modules are production ready. - Validates deployments. - Develop and write script to ensure E2E implementation of CICD framework. - Evaluates existing applications and platforms and provides recommendations for improving performance by conducting gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the scope of modifications. - May perform automated/load tests and address any issues.

Qualifications: - Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration - Experience with automation/configuration management - Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required) - Strong experience with SQL and MySQL (NoSQL experience is a plus, too, since we also use Redis) - Programming concepts and working understanding of code and script (JAVA, PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby, Linux ) - Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service - Software Development Lifecycle and Agile Methodologies. - System Architecture and Infrastructure. - Performance Testing and Security Testing. - Application Monitoring Tools. As an Android Developer, you work with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation mobile applications in a scalable manner. Responsibilities: - Design and build advanced, scalable applications for the Android platform. - Collaborate with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements and use cases and translate them pragmatic and effective technical solutions. - Integrate with our backend services (JSON, REST, etc.) to make sure we are delivering a great mobile user experience that is super-fast for end users. - Own end-to-end product modules/features from requirement to going live. - Design and review code, troubleshoot and act as a consultant to team members on technical matters. - Gather requirements by interacting directly with the end users and advocate delightful user experiences. - You continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency. - Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
Requirements

Experience Required: - 3+ years of Android application development, with extensive knowledge about Java, collections, algorithms and well-known application frameworks. - Strong understanding of interactive application development paradigm under Android, memory management, file I/O, network programming, concurrency and multithreading. - Experience in Android-specific application development and publishing Android apps in the play store. - Good understanding of design patterns, such as builder, facade and Observer. - Good knowledge about the latest framework and technics, including RxAndroid, Lambda expressions and dependency injection. - Good understanding of the full mobile development life cycle. Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies. - Experience in working with third-party libraries and APIs. - Good experience on testing frameworks, including Robolectric and Espresso. - Strong and innovative approach to problem solving and finding solutions. Flexible and proactive/self-motivated working style with strong personal ownership of problem resolution. - Excellent communicator (written and verbal, formal and informal). - Highly accountable and takes ownership, with collaborative attitude, and a lifelong learner.
