FAAS professionals provide advisory services to a wide range of clients covering a very broad spectrum of services including:

- IFRS Conversion
- Support, design and development of accounting and reporting policies
- Contract accounting support
- Accounting Compliance Reporting (ACR) Support

Responsibilities
- Participating and/or managing FAAS engagements
- Collaborate with the partner, senior manager and client to determine a FAAS strategy that appropriately addresses risk and manages client expectations relating to deliverables
- Ensure that the FAAS engagement team understands the client's needs and expectations and that the work product is client-focused, clear, accurate and well-presented
- Ensure work is delivered timely and in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Deliver effective execution of the FAAS service delivery framework
- Work with other service lines in providing an integrated service delivery
- Monitor the FAAS engagement team's performance against the budget, and alter if necessary
- Identify and communicate relevant trends, developments and key performance drivers relevant to the client
- Consult with appropriate resources on complex accounting issues
- Participate in sales of new FAAS work
- A bachelor's degree and approximately 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 4 years of post- qualification related work experience
- An undergraduate or master's degree in accounting and/or other appropriate academic major
- At least 4 years of experience working as an auditor for a public accounting firm and particular business/industry experience to meet special needs
- Strong advisory (selling) mindset
- CPA/CA/ACCA certification
- Extensive knowledge of technical accounting issues relevant to Oil & Gas, Power and Utilities sectors/ energy industries
- Strong technical skills and recognized cautious risk management ability
- Understanding of a client's industry and marketplace
- Strong management skills to lead teams, delegate appropriately, mentor, review performance and counsel employees
- Fluent written and verbal English and Arabic communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills
- Ability and comfort level in researching client inquires and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
- Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary

About the opportunity

Our FAAS practice is one of the fastest growing areas of our business. As a result, we have a recruitment need for a Senior to join our team in Amman, Jordan to support on big scale projects ranging from GAAP Conversion and implementation of new accounting standards to FSCP and financial policies and procedures support.

In this role, you will:
• Work directly with a wide range of clients across several industries to assess the impact of new accounting standards, proposed transactions or other regulatory changes
• Build and maintain strong networks internally and externally in order to grow the pipeline of FAAS work
• Report directly to Managers, Senior Managers, Directors and Partners at the planning, execution and wrap-up stages of FAAS engagements
• Coach and mentor junior team members and conduct performance review by contributing to performance feedback for staff
• Ensure work is of a high quality, delivered in a timely fashion and in compliance with EY policies
• Work with other EY locations, service lines and specialists to deliver a fully integrated service offering
• Monitor engagement economics against key financial metrics and manage the appropriate internal and external stakeholders
• Identify and communicate relevant trends, developments and key performance drivers relevant to the client
• Consult with appropriate resources on complex accounting issues
• Ensure that the FAAS work products meet the needs and expectations of clients are clear, accurate and well presented
• Ensure work is delivered timely and in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Deliver effective execution of the FAAS service delivery framework
• A bachelor's degree in finance and/ or accounting. Masters or MBA would be preferred
• Minimum 3- years of experience working as an auditor/ consultant or technical resource for a public accounting firm
• CPA/ CA/ ACCA certification (preferred)
• Knowledge of accounting and auditing processes and techniques
• Proven experience with IFRS
• Strong technical skills and recognized cautious risk management ability
• Solid team working skills with the ability to work with different people from diverse backgrounds in the diverse FAAS team
• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills.
• Ability and comfort level in researching client inquires and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
• Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary
• Keen to develop technical and other attributes of assigned team members
• Fluent in English and Arabic

About the role

As Assistant Manager, you'll make a technical contribution to clients in a lead role in both financial and non- financial service sectors.Within your role, you'll actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships, execute complex procedures, supervise junior engagement team members and help define the strategy. Working under the supervision of a FAAS manager and senior manager, you'll help execute our work and present its findings to the client.

With a clear focus on anticipating and identifying risks, you'll escalate issues as appropriate. Working closely with colleagues, you'll determine whether the work plan is properly executed, documented and concluded in compliance with our Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) guidelines. As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture, will coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop.

Client responsibilities
• Support the planning, execution and delivery of FAAS engagements
• Work effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress
• Assist in preparing reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties

• Professional accountancy qualification or working towards gaining one
