 Senior Infrastructure Technical Lead, GroupTech 
 Responsible for providing expert services in relation to implementing, managing, operating and supporting high performance technology infrastructure, development, design and operations for the Westpac Group.  Infrastructure management:  
Evaluate and assist in the design and implementation of WebSphere suits such as Datapower, Message Broker, and MQ based infrastructure solutions and support project delivery groups to ensure the development and maintenance of effective technology infrastructure within the Westpac Group. 
AIX / UNIX / Linux administration experience and Mainframe experience desirable. The candidate should be able to work in a team, work independently and proactively as needed to identify problems and find solutions. 
Work on multiple assignments and learning new technologies. Having knowledge / experience of broader emerging technologies is becoming essential (e.g. cloud computing, IT security, mobility etc). 
Provide input into the planning of future infrastructure requirements, assess existing infrastructure, conduct all aspects of capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning of specific infrastructure components and liaise with third parties/external support vendors for infrastructure maintenance and upgrades to ensure the stability and availability of technology infrastructure services to the business 
 Service Delivery: 
Provide specialised second and third-level support and technical assistance and monitor issue resolution to ensure issues are resolved within a timely manner 
Understand business continuity requirements, plan and undertake effective Disaster Recovery and testing procedures to ensure effective Disaster Recovery plans are developed, documented, tested and implemented 
Work with the development team to support the integration of the applications deployment, configure and administer the applications. Closely work with database, *nix OS, AIX, Mainframe, Network, firewall, security teams. 
Undertake WebSphere Datapower and MQ problem determination and root cause analysis for business impacting problems to ensure permanent corrective actions are implemented appropriately problem resolution, including log analysis. 
Plan, review and critique proposed changes to ensure successful implementation of infrastructure change.  
Partner and vendor management: 
Provide high-level technical consultation to business/technology stakeholders to support relevant infrastructure partners and other business stakeholders 
Engage with relevant stakeholders to evaluate if infrastructure requirements can be defined in terms of existing or new services to ensure user requirements are understood and appropriately translated into infrastructure requirements. 
 Strategy and innovation: 
Provide input into the development of technology strategies, standards and governance procedures to support the development of effective infrastructure strategy, standards and procedures 
Assess latest developments in infrastructure technology and continually evaluate and understand operational aspects of new technology and its potential to enhance or replace existing systems to ensure that relevant new technologies are adopted 
Knowledge and experience:  
Seven + years relevant IT industry experience with at least three years in a highly technical role 
Five + years experience in a complex IT infrastructure environment incorporating planning, implementation, operational management, configuration and maintenance 
The ability to perform diagnostic analysis and tune the environment at the MQ and/ Datapower infrastructure level 
Able to analyse runtime logs and dumps as part of tuning and problem determination 
The ability to perform diagnostic analysis and tune the environment  
Strong, clear communicator and coordinator 
Experience in complex clustered environments 
Essential to have Websphere knowledge in the *nix environments, experience in a mainframe environment desirable 
Advanced analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting and consultative skills 
A firm understanding of a financial services operating environment and core applications and products desirable 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
Tertiary qualifications in IT or related discipline, or equivalent experience 
WebSphere Datapower certification desirable and advantage 
WebSphere Message Broker certification desirable and advantage 
WebSphere MQ certification desirable and advantage 
Desirable to have SOA infrastructure knowledge and experience
