Job Description
Essential Job Functions Maintain a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices so as to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and Contractors operating on Etihad Rail infrastructure, Ensure the safe, reliable and punctual movement of trains in both normal and degraded circumstances, Create and deliver plans to continuously develop the skills and knowledge of new entrant, Identify equipment faults and failures and take to address, Provide real-time information updates to the Train Controller on performance and safety related matters, Liaise with customer facility staff as necessary to promote a safe and reliable operation, Perform On Call response role as required by Etihad Rail DB, Support the training and development of new entrants to the industry. Maintain current train driver competence Requirement English as first language or advanced level of written and verbal skill, Good Medical Fitness, Able to successfully complete Psychometric Evaluation, Full UAE driving license or ability to achieve competence, Good planning skills, Analytical skills for problem solving, Ability to writing comprehensive reports, Knowledge of applicable discipline based railway standards, Knowledge of European Train Control System (ETCS), Knowledge of ECP braking system, IT literate, Diesel electric traction knowledge, Current competency in freight / passenger train driving, Knowledge of competence management systems. Other Desired Skills/Abilities Recognised competence assessor qualification, Recognised training qualification, Good communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to motivate and critically assess performance of employees, Ability to achieve competence in Rail Incident Officer duties.

The Etihad Rail DB Train Driver is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient movement of trains on the Etihad Rail network. The Train driver is in charge of, and responsible for, driving the locomotives, as well as the mechanical operation of the train, train speed and all train handling. The Train Driver may be called upon to inspect trains, report defects and carry out repairs, refuel locomotives and shunt rolling stock both within Mirfa yard and in set-off tracks along the line. Team work is hugely important within Etihad Rail DB as you will work closely with others including Train Controllers, Fleet and Infrastructure team members. The Train Driver must be punctual and reliable. Maintaining concentration is of critical importance in this role as is stamina and the ability to work both independently, with little social interaction, and as part of a team. The Train Driver must have good problem-solving and decision-making skills especially in emergencies. You must have a positive customer focus and the highest regard for safety.

General duties:
 Implement general activities such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), problem solving and 5S in assigned area.
 Follow all Safe Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and implement EHS management system.
 Perform any additional tasks given by Main Operator or the operation Shift Supervisor.
Entry Area:
 Responsible for selection and inspection of coils for processing.
 He will operate all equipment in the entry area.
Process Area:
 Prepare and perform slitter knife and separator arm setting according to production schedule.
 Operate all relevant equipment in the process section area.
 Maintain proper inventory of slitter/separator arms tooling such as knives, spacers, bonded stripper rings and separator discs. Send knives and bonded stripper rings for grinding when required.
Exit / Packing Area:
 Prepare and perform separator arm setting and maintain inventory of tooling and packing materials required. Prepare wooden skids/pallets to be used.
 Perform and operate all equipment in exit and packing lines.
Main Pulpit Operation:
 Assist Main Operator in issuing work permit and performing LOTOV duties when required.
 Check production schedule and coordinate activities of main pulpit, entry, process, exit and packing line operators during line running.
 Responsible for line operation such as material tracking, monitoring of required and achieved process parameters and take necessary corrective/preventive actions during processing as required.
 Responsible in monitoring process result data and report any line abnormality to Main Operator or Operation Shift Supervisor.
