Requirements

The Role 
Our client, a green field project for poultry “Broiler” production in Sultanate of Oman is planning to build a processing plant to produce broiler 15% fresh / 85% frozen whole chicken and 10% cutups with total capacity of 200,000 bird/day. This role is for an experienced individual looking to take the next step in their career. The Plant Manager will be responsible for the slaughterhouse plant building and machineries erection at the project stage. In the production stage, he will oversee the full-scale slaughter and processing facility, all the process from receiving until finished products and maintenance. As well to plan, organize and control production, ensuring efficiency, deadlines, budgets and high industry standards in production processes are all met and adhered to.   Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Includes but not limited to the following:   During planning and construction: First Two Years  • Assist in planning, procurement of machineries, supervision of the plant construction and machineries erection and commissioning.  • Manage and oversee the installation of all the machineries for Chicken Slaughter House in close coordination with project consultants.  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation   At Operation period - After commissioning • Manage slaughterhouse operations at a fully-automated processing facility  • Implement and control the production schedule. Review and adjust the schedule as required • Determine the human and material resources required  • Participate in live birds planning with Farming Unit Department  • Work out and implement standard operating procedures for production operations  • Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures  • Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives  • Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems  • Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement  • Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution and management  • Manage and oversee production and inspection operations of poultry slaughterhouse to ensure continuous supply of safe and wholesome chicken products for consumers.  • Follow up processes and stages of production with the application of food safety rules, HACCP and good housekeeping • Plan and monitor the sales administration and logistic operations team to ensure smooth processing of sales orders and chicken products delivery.  • Work closely with Farm Managers and Sales team on chicken products inventory and quality issues.  • Organize and monitor waste management 
Requirements 
• At least Bachelor’s Degree in Poultry Science, Agricultural Science, or Food Technology or related field from an accredited institution OR 15 years equivalent education and experience.  • Must have experience & references of installing, commissioning and running a Chicken Slaughter Houses with at least 6000 BPH or more capacity. • At least 10-15 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.  • Must have experience & references of installing, commissioning and running Chicken Slaughter Houses with at least 6000 BPH or more capacity.  • HACCP qualifications  • Knowledge of quality systems and standards  • Knowledge of business, finance and management principles  • Hands on attitude and active involvement in slaughterhouse operations   DESIRED SKILLS:  • Poultry science knowledge.  • Interpersonal communication skills.  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and motivate people.  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial terms and reporting.  • Demonstrated sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills   DESIRED PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS:  • Understand and interpret data while drawing logical conclusions based on available inputs.  • Critical thinking skills in standardized situations as well as non-routine problems.  • Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and prioritize work accordingly.  • Basic reasoning skills and carries out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form.
