• Independently performs a wide variety of conventional and moderately-complex architectural assignments by applying architectural design standards, practices, and techniques. The incumbent at this level regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment in developing original designs, is proficient in the utilization of standard architectural techniques, and is thoroughly familiar with company procedures. 
• Performs a variety of assignments such as conducting architectural studies, developing design concepts and design criteria and preparing high quality presentation drawings, rendering. 
• Reviews CAD drawings, renderings, layouts, study models, construction documents, and color boards prepared by Architectural Designers. 
• Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of the architectural portions of a project. 
• Coordinates architectural efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other divisional groups. 
• Coordinates work with engineering and construction units at project site. Reviews, approves, and issues detailed design and construction drawings and specifications prepared by others.
• Ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. Coordinates work with engineering and construction units at project site. 
• Writes construction specifications and prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials. Interfaces with suppliers as required.
• Provides technical guidance to Architectural Designer/Drafters working on the same project.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Degree in Architecture and must be licensed Grade A Architect in Qatar MMUP Engineering Committee. Candidate must have 12 years extensive design experience related to infrastructure projects. 

Requires proficiency in the application of architectural design standards, practices, and techniques, as well as a demonstrated proficiency in sketching, rendering, model-building, and presentation drawing. 

Proficiency in CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with architectural design is also required.

Mechanical Design Engineer - Grade A MMUP

This role is primarily to support the design functions of mechanical equipment and systems. Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses. Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations.

- Prepares material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; reviews supplier data; witnesses shop tests, assists with assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities.
- Prepares standard engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. 
- Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. 
- Conducts surveys, studies, and site investigations.
- Performs reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM) and safety analyses.
- Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
- Recommends and prepares technical papers.
- Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project. 
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Mechanical Inspector - Infrastructure

Opportunity

Parsons is the construction supervision consultant for a major infrastructure project in the UAE. The scope of work includes internal roads, external highway intersections, iconic bridges and other structures, electrical (HV and LV) networks, telecoms networks, potable water network, irrigation, water pump station network, fire-fighting network, sewerage network, storm water drainage network, street lighting and traffic signals, and gas network.

Position Overview

The Site Inspector is assigned to various phases of the mechanical works with an important part in assuring the quality of work in the finished project. He will be the eyes and ears of the ARE and the RE to ensure compliance of the work with the drawings and specifications. He shall be familiar with the plans, specifications, particular specifications and construction methods for the phases of the work to which he has been assigned. 

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure that all construction works are performed in strict accordance with the plans and specifications.
• Maintain a detailed diary of the day’s work activities, issues, work approved or rejected, hours of operation, labor and equipment used, etc. and sign at the end of each day as directed by the ARE.
• Interface with the public and stake holders adjacent to the work to mitigate the construction impacts.
• Coordinate with the contractor’s foreman in charge of the work on a daily basis to advice on the proper execution of the work.
• Coordinate with the Materials Inspectors and arrange for sampling and testing of satisfactorily completed work, and quality assurance testing of suspect materials.
• Coordinate with the Surveyors to check the line and grade of ready work and completed work for conformance with the plans and specifications.
• Report questionable methods of operation by the contractor to the ARE or to the Resident Engineer.
• Report to ARE or RE any failure of the contractor to perform the work as per the drawings and specifications and to provide good workmanship.
• Process the inspection requests and maintain records of their status.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed by the contractor in case the work is performed on a day works basis.
• Act in a professional way but firm in dealings with the Contractor.
Desired Qualification/Experience:

• Technical diploma (or equivalent).
• 8 to 10 years of related work experience in infrastructure projects.
• Dubai-UAE experience is preferred.

Skills/Competencies

• Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project personnel and management.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction related processes related to area of assignment.
