Job Description
Reporting
to the Manager-Carpentry Workshop, the Engineer-Joinery will be responsible for
leading the whole production process of interior / joinery projects for
customers
Managing a team of 100 + staff, primarily carpenters, Engineers in the manufacturing process
Responsible for taking a design order process through to completion
Duties include production planning, scheduling, quality assurance and Health & Safety
Regular meetings with the customers & stakeholders on the projects
Management of a pricing / budget & project P&L
Recruitment, training and motivation of a large team
Key Responsibilities
Should have sound knowledge of procurement, design, fabrication and installation of fit-out, joinery & FF&E works.
Should coordinate with the internal agencies like Production team, Draftsman, Quantity Surveyor and external agencies like Client, Consultant, Main Contractor, Suppliers and vendors.
Generate progress reports, monitor project status, cost and time reconciliation.
Supervise all construction activities, providing technical inputs for methodologies of construction & coordination with site management activities including HSE management.
Interact with company dedicated Purchase officer and Suppliers for achieving cost effective purchase of equipment, accessories, material with timely delivery so as to minimise project cost
Coordinate with Clients, Main /Sub Contractors, monitor their performance in view of project schedule. Settle all techno commercial disputes / clarifications during execution of project Implement QA / QC procedures, Prepare Method Statements including inspection and test plans Conduct Quality / Safety Audits to ensure adherence to Quality and Safety norms across the entire course of project execution.
Prepare schedules for all projects including Resource Schedules, Execution methodologies, Milestones, Cash Flow projections and Budgets.
Prepare and monitor resource requirements based on the budgetary parameters, make changes in the same as per revised schedules and budgets.
Ensure the smooth functioning of the project in terms of quality, time, cost; including Quantity Surveying and Billing of the project.
Track and control cost accruals based with respect to budgets.
Should have thorough knowledge of Fire Doors Scheme Awareness Program
Monitor financial performance on a monthly basis against plans and forecasts.
Assesses financial performance of the joinery division by strictly monitoring
P&L, Cash flow, Operating expenses, cost control, Quality, Operations,
Designs, and Sales.
Build and increase new clients data base to improve the sales
Initiate programs that would help improve the quality of services and
manpower such as relevant education and trainings.
Provide leadership to the functions of sales, projects, and service.
Integrate and focus all resources in the Company to ensure maximum
customer satisfaction ultimately
Participate in key customer visits/sales calls.
Ensure that sales processes are executed that provide profitable
growth for the business.
Review monthly forecasts/projects and implements action to ensure
goals are achieved.
Establishing the Production Department, building team work among employees for the effective implementation of productivity plans and to monitor resource allocations and project budgets.
Controls product cost i.e. scrap, rework, labor variance
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Overseeing the production process, drawing up a production schedule
Ensuring that the production is cost effective
Making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality
Working out the human and material resources needed
Drafting a timescale for the job
Estimating costs and setting the quality standards
Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed
Responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment
Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programs
Working with Managers to implement the company's policies and goals
Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed
Reviewing the performance of subordinates
Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to
reduce operating problems and improve quality of output.
Implements quality control in the factory which includes determining
"Chalking quality" for reliable production steps

production sections.
Selects the best materials for manufacturing, finishing and recommending
best technical ways for applying them according to the needs and capacity
of manufacturing
