Description
Responsibilities:
Developing
embedded software for new products using the latest embedded microprocessors to
include the ARM9 and DSP's and contributing to all phases of the development
cycle.
Analyze
information to determine, recommend and plan installation of a new system or
modification of an existing system.
Confer with
project managers to obtain information on limitations and capabilities for new
and existing projects.
Consult with
engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop
specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems.
Design and
develop software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to
predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
Develop and
direct software system testing and validation procedures.
Direct
software programming and development of documentation.
Evaluate
factors such as reporting formats required, cost constraints, and need for
security restrictions to determine hardware configuration.
Modify
existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade
interfaces and improve performance.
Monitor
functioning of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with
specifications.
Participate
in the development of new computer peripherals with embedded microprocessors.
Analyze
competitors to determine best of breed or minimum requirements from new
systems.
Coordinate
installation of software system.
Provide
technical support to customers, sales, engineering, marketing, and production
departments.
Additional
tasks related to these as assigned.
This position will work with hardware, manufacturing engineers, and marketing to define, design, develop, and test a wide range of products. The products include environmental monitors with support for new sensors and HDMI multiviewers.
Qualifications:
* BSCE OR BSEE and MASTER DEGREE REQUIRED
* Minimum of 5 plus years of software experience.* Experience in C++ and embedded knowledge of Linux commands within operating system is required.
* Experience with ARM processors.
* Working Good understanding of TCP/IP protocols.
* Familiarization with Altium Designer and P-Cad a plus.
* Good communication and documentation skills are a must; candidates must have experience with the Microsoft family of products including, but not limited to, Word and Excel.
* Must have ability to multi-task and manage a high volume projects.
* The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is able to work independently or as part of a team.
* Ability to communicate effectively in English
