Materials Engineer

We are now seeking an exceptional Materials Engineer to join our award winning team based on our project in Dubai
This critical role will be responsible for providing all necessary assistance to the construction team with respect to all materials submittals, approvals, testing, sampling, etc. To participate in the quality control of materials including all the laboratory and field testing, acceptance of used materials, checking and accepting all remedial and corrective measures.
Paramount to success within this varied role will include ; 
• Ensure compliance of used materials with the projects specifications.
• Participate in construction quality control.
• Supervise, participate and direct sampling and testing of all materials according to the contract and the specifications.
• Analyze the test results in a timely manner and recommend action to the Senior Resident Engineer.
• Maintain records of test results and all taken corrective actions.
• Track and review the site testing and certificates of compliance.
• Follow up and verify implementation of corrective actions.
• Ensure inspection and checking of all delivered materials to site for conformance to the project requirements and approval

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you will bring a minimum of 10 years career experience with a BSc in civil engineering or equivalent.

Inspector - Utilities

- Attend to Inspection Requests (IR's) submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner
- Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications, local codes and statutory requirements and international best practice
- Report any works carried out by contractor found to not be in accordance with approved drawing and specifications and report to immediate supervisor for appropriate action and discharge instruction to the contractor
- Monitor quality of works and assess the safety at site including health and environmental issues, ensuring the same complies with contracts / QCS specifications, safety and health risk assessment and environmental mitigating measures respectively on a daily basis
- Maintain records for daily activities on site including progress photos and ensure they are readily available for inspection as and when required
- Prepare Surveillance Report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site that are believed to have failed or if the contractor is not complying with verbal instructions and subsequently complete a Non Conformance Report (NCR) if required in view of the development of events
- Check and ensure effective co-ordination between discipline related works and all other disciplines
- Provide technical input and experiences to resolve any discipline related issues on site that may arise
- Monitor the contractor’s (ITP's) and quality plan(s) in regards to discipline related works
- Inspect materials delivered and report on quantity and technical compliance
- Ensure site progress information is communicated regularly
- Undertake any survey checks as and when required

- Prepare conceptual and schematic illustrative perspectives, illustrations, storyboards and graphics for master planning and landscape architectural projects.
- Show an understanding of scale and massing in the urban environment as well as knowledge of basic architectural and landscape typologies.
- Develop detailed 3-D Sketch Up /3-D Max models for presentation of urban design and landscape architectural elements.
- Develop photo realistic 3-D perspectives.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, project documentation, urban design guidelines, presentation drawings and calculations.

Interior Design Coordinator

- Review contractor submittals including Interior/Architectural shop drawings, concept design, perspectives, materials, FF&E package, methods statements and technical documentation related to submittals to ensure compliance with specifications
- Work with all project engineers to ensure that the interior design works are fully coordinated with other aspects
- Attend meetings with end-user, client, designers, manufacturers, contractors and subcontractors in order to coordinate with all parties
- Prepare interior design reports and progress reports
- Attend workshop meetings for proper selection of materials, colours and finishes
- Visit suppliers’ showroom to ensure submitted items comply with specifications
- Conduct site visits and supervision to ensure quality of work and issue SORs and NCRs when needed
- Prepare snag lists and follow up on snags to ensure contractor has taken appropriate action
